I can tell you now from experience that sitting under that hood is by far the most impressive power train I've ever driven. Just finished our first 350 mile trip to the Utah west desert and this truck required a 7% grade before downshifting out of 6th gear. Of course the 3.73 axle is an...
Okay, I'll share a funny story too... I've pulled 5th wheels with no issue for many years. THEN one day pulling into a gas station making a hard right turn toward the gas pump my rig stopped like it never had before. I thought I must have hit something and I leaped out of the driver seat to...
Had to repaint the faded front cap on my 2011 cyclone HD. The repair was $2600 and I chipped in an extra $150 out of pocket to have it done in color matched grey automotive paint with a clear coat to keep it looking good. It was painted outside because it was too large to fit into a paint...
No Pics of the garage to share but I had to replace one of my Polaris Sportsman's with a smaller Honda Rancher in order to fit two ATVs side-by-side in my 3010. The bed rails intrude several inches on each side of the garage and two 48 inch machines would not fit. I back the Polaris in first...
Comparing weights from my 2011 3010 to your 30C I was amazed at how much heavier the 30C pin weight is rated:
3010 = 2300 lbs
30C = 2900 lbs
No wonder you are concerned. Depending on wheel base and other options the maximum cargo rating for the 2011 6.7 F350 is 3200 lbs...
Makes me wish I could pack up and head down there with you! Snowed in SLC last week but getting nice again--need to get out another time or two before the snow sticks. I'm refusing to winterize just yet...
All you need is satellite internet and you could stay for a few weeks. Ping me sometime.
I don't have your hitch but I do have a 2008 F350 short bed and I know your pain! Had to lower my 20K Reese to it's lowest setting and raise the king pin to it's highest setting to get my 3010 to ride level. Unfortunately the molded cowling doesn't fit now and I'm reluctant to cut it to make...
First let me say that I'm not sure if this is the best quality switch available but it is water resistant and feels much firmer than the original factory switch when toggling back and forth. The manufacture web site is

This past week while visiting Arches National Park I also spent 30 minutes with the Gorilla glue and a Q-tip re-attaching hinges on 4 cabinet doors in our 3010. Easy to do but it would be nice if the factory was aware of this issue and decided how to best eliminate this problem. Three of the...
Good News! I traced an intermittent voltage fluctuation to the toggle switch that operates the landing gear. Perhaps the snow storm we drove through to get back home uncovered a defective switch when it was exposed to moisture. Replaced the faulty switch with a marine grade MON-OFF-MON DPDT...
We just returned home after spending spring break with our two youngest children at Arches National Park, UT. Felt great to get the 5vr on the road again! After preparing to re-store the trailer we parked the 5vr, pulled both pins to drop the front landing gear feet, rocked the switch down to...
At a February 2010 RV show I purchased a new Cyclone HD model 3010. I was excited to hear from both the dealer and the on-site Heartland Rep that the trailer was the new 2011 model and all paper work shows the model year as 2011. While cleaning the trailer after a week-long trip to the San...
After lowering my Reese 20K Slider to the lowest possible setting I still had to raise the pin box one position to level my 2011 Cyclone HD 3010. Now the factory cowling doesn't fit... Is there a factory cowling available for the higher pin box setting or do I need to modify this one by...
