Keep messin' with it-----latch screen open and retract a couple of times. It will usually fix itself.

2011 Toyota specs say Class IV. Normally ratings are on a sticker or stamped on the hitch itself.

    Best Tires for tow vehicle?

Original Michelin LTX M/S had 60K + and had months more life in them. Replaced them because of winter weather with Michelin Cross Terrains. Even wearing, smooth, quiet, and long wearing.

ATF: North Country - EZ winterization

I winterized mine a couple of weeks ago. Put the hose in the gallon jug and watched nothing happen at first. Follow the hose to the first valve---open---follow the hose further down the line----probably not far---open that one too. That was the one I didn't open ---almost two gallons...

ATF: North Country - Water Leak into front bedroom

I'm going to take a guess that it is the seam where the front cap overlaps onto the roof. Mine leaked @ this spot. Don't know how this seam is sealed(yours) at the factory but mine barely had enough caulk to span the joint. IF yours is sealed with the self leveling Dicor you might have to really...

ATF: North Trail - Front cap

vdubee, what was the factory fix............another bead of caulk on the front cap/roof seam? The NT front cap looks similar to my Edge cap. Probably the same issue as my Edge too--inadequate sealing straight from the factory. Looked at other brands Mon. and just for kicks I climbed a ladder on...

    2011 Edge M18 Roof Maintenance

Dave, If you get on the roof to inspect the caulk seam at the front/rear cap where it meets the roof you should see the issue. The caulk, in my opinion , is barely adequate to make the trip from the factory. These two seams are the most critical leak points on the roof. Since I had water...

    What am I missing?

How many other lines has Heartland picked up in the last year? Along the lines of Colorado's thinking----is the Edge a victim of not making enough $$$$$ for the manufacturer? With the other lines acquired has Heartland eliminated the "less" profitable and in a sense bitten off more than they can...

    Lousy caulk = Roof leak

I'm glad you have gotten a very reasonable life out of your roof caulk..........."My" situation is not the same. I stumbled on the Edge M-18 post. Hopefully my situation is not prevalent throughout the Edge lineup but owners should be aware to check it out. I'm sure you have many more miles on...

    Lousy caulk = Roof leak

I'm glad you have gotten a very reasonable life out of your roof caulk............which is "my" point. I think the caulk on "my" roof is/was inadequate and it's lifespan the same.

    2011 Edge M18 Roof Maintenance

dq72---yes keep an eye on the caulk. Bob---I'll use Dawn from now on---a lot cheaper. TT was bought Feb.2010. Have no more than a dozen trips on this unit. All trips within an hr of home with the exception of one which was 3 hr. Obviously we can not compare a home and TT roof but when the...

    Lousy caulk = Roof leak

Yes, I figured this would be a final fix. Prep is the majority of the work. I probably have a couple of years before the five pounds of caulk on each of the skylights goes to crap. The bead of caulk on the caps was not much larger than used on the rest of the trim on the trailer.

    2011 Edge M18 Roof Maintenance

I clean mine with roof cleaner from Walmart camping section. Check your caulk which forms a seal at the front and rear fiberglass caps where they meet the roof membrane. It will leak, it's just a matter of when. I just posted my issue of "Lousy caulk = Roof leak" in the Edge section but it moved...

    Lousy caulk = Roof leak

Looking out the window waching it rain..........Reminds me of a project I completed in late July. After a rainstorm in July my wife says" The camper is leaking." Oh goody! Both nightstands on each side of the bed held neat little puddles of water. Open the closets and the wallpaper is bubbled...
