I think Dan has offered a sensible approach to this problem. I am returning to work on a deep sea tug boat in a couple days but will pursue this matter as time and available communications allow.
Hello Brian, I can only attest to the fact my Cyclone has hangers spaced at 30.5" which should be 29.5" per Dexter. Sorry but I have no idea of the length (26"?) of Lippert's leaf springs.
Hello Cam, Dexter has been nothing but good to me. As I stated above they did send me new parts. They alerted me to the fact that my suspension may have been installed incorrectly. They did not mention the bad batch of rubber pucks. I felt Jackie at Dexter provided me excellent customer service.
Hello westxsrt10, I apologize if I did not make my post easily understandable. Yes, my rig is out of warranty. No, I did NOT raise it 8 inches. I raised it 4 inches. It was obvious to me I would have some very expensive repair bills in the future due to contact between my truck bed and the front...
Hello Traveltiger, I can not speak to the issue of switching suspension components of different manufacturerers. Just going by what the Dexter Rep. told me about early component failure due to incorrect hanger spacing. Dexter did send me new rubber donuts but I have not installed them as of yet...
Hello Danemeyer, thanks for the advice. What blows my mind is the "manufacturing defect". It's not like I purchased the trailer with bent or broken spring hangers or these components failed after use. Heartland shipped this unit out the door with important suspension components not installed to...
I purchased my 2011 Cyclone 3010 in Jan. 2011. The most space I could obtain between the camper and the bed of my 2011 Chevy 3500 DRW was 5.5" due to the increased bed height on the 2011 Chevy's. Also the trailer rode low in the back so I was worried about tail dragging or smashing my truck bed...
If someone is interested in doing a 4 battery install as I have please be aware that if you have the same 4" C channel supports that are in my 3010 it makes for a very tight install. These C channels are huge for the job of holding up the landing gear hydraulics. Heartland must use them...
Typing on phone so will be brief. Can add detail later on install tips and pitfalls. Batteries $596. Wiring $51. Boxes $65 each, made in Canada, no name. I bought at discount solar in quartzsite AZ. Ithink they are on the net. Shop around I think u can beat these prices.
I took pictures of the battery install, got them resized and my verizon internet went down before I could post. On my sprint phone now:) will post pics when able:(
My shur-flo pump may be causing my pop off valve on the water heater to leak about 50% of the time. I will use the water and the pump will continue to run slowly. Go outside and sure enough pop off valve will be leaking. I haven't been able to determine if it is a faulty valve or the pump is...
Thanks for the welcome Jim, been lurking and learning. sdrubrecht- you are correct. My 3010 has Dexter suspension. There is no wet bolt kit installed on it though. According to the manual that is an optional heavy duty attaching parts kit .
Just installed 4 6v Trojan 105 solars today. These...
Hey Elkstalker, Just picked up a 2011 3010 on Jan 7. I wish I Knew then what I know now. Love the 3010 but do not love the generator. That thing is a gas hog. It is big enough to run 2 ac units but I only have the one and don't plan on adding another. As long as you keep the sliding door shut...
