    roof access ladder

I lost 3 stone last year - being able to safely climb the the ladder was one of my incentives!! Fewer ribs and more salads did the trick. On the subject of archaic measures: I used to be the correct weight for my height when I was 0.36 rods tall, but alas I've shrunk to 0.35 rods (a rod is...

    Second PA chapter 2010 rally

One vote for Raystown lake with jet skis and pontoon boats. Never been there but heard great things about the area. We're always ready to do something on the water... but probably not on a Segway!!

    Thermostat Size

We also installed the Wal Mart Hunter thermostat and really like it - very easy to adjust and works well. My wall is kinda narrow but it fit fine. As stated above, it uses batteries for power. Here are a couple of links on the intallation. http://www.rverscorner.com/hunterstat.htm...

    Where to camp in Michigan

We've camped a few times at Hartwick Pines State Park near Grayling. This is a really nice park - one of the few state parks with full hookups. In fact we'll be there the first week of August. Lots of old growth tall pine trees, centrally located about an hour from Macinac or Traverse City area.

    First Pa Chapter 2009 Rally

Hi Cheryl, We're really looking forward to the rally. I'll bring my Bradley smoker and will smoke up a mess of baby back ribs. My dry rub recipe is said to be the best this side of Memphis. Hope you guys had a good time at the big rally. We wished we could have been there, but we've...

    First Pa Chapter 2009 Rally

Hi Jim, We'd also be interested in the chapter and rally (Downingtown PA). We'll keep the dates open. People tell me I make pretty good baby back ribs, so if it fits with Cheryl's plan I'll bring my smoker. Bob and Denise

    Slow-Cooker BBQ Shredded Beef

I have a Bradley Smoker which I often take with me in the pickup bed. It's about the size of a small refrigerator and fits well in the pickup on it's side. It's electric and uses wood "pucks". Works great for ribs, brisket, chicken, and is really easy to use. www.bradleysmoker.com But the...

    Toting along a scooter

Swivelwheel Just saw an advert for Swivelwheel in Trailer Life, a single wheel trailer. Looks like a good way to tote a scooter, ATV, golf cart, etc. Anyone have one of these? http://www.cruiserlift.com/swivelwheel.html

    A lot of water Below

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a leak at the water heater inlet line, which I fixed easily by hand tightening. Check behind the access panel in the storage compartment.

    Direction of Television Swing Out

On our '08 3600RL, the tv swings out toward the kitchen, but you can also push it in to angle it more toward the recliners. I wedge a small card in the cabinet to hold the frame in place when I push it in.

PLEASE redesign the closet door latch

I did the same thing as Jimtoo and it works great. Attached a bit of foam on both sides of the board so I can wedge the board into the opening to ensure it doesn't slip out on rocky roads.

    looking at Big Horn

We have a 2008 3400RL (picked it up a few months ago) and have been very happy so far. Quality is good - only a few very small problems which I fixed myself. We compared the 3400RL and 3055 and like the size, storage space and floor plan of the 3400 a bit more. We tow it with a 1 ton Dodge...

New Bighorn pics on Heartland website

I noticed that the Heartland website has several new pics of the Bighorn 5th wheel. It looks like they changed the entertainment center (including 26 inch LCD TV), dining room chairs, marbelized shower, bedroom furniture, upgraded countertops, etc. I like the new look and upgrades. Anyone...

    Our 3400 Plus

Nice pictures. We have a 3400 coming in a couple of months and I will have to try the screen door opener trick. We have a 9 year old golden with a face almost as gray. I can see where her favorite spot is going to be!! Is that the stock TV in the entertainment center? It looks like a...

    Missing Stuff

Ray, Other than the shower seat, are there any other changes in your unit relative to the models labeled as 2006? I've got a 2007 3400RL on order, probably will be built later this year (depending on when my dealer places the order) and am wondering what other changes might be in store.

Actual weight of 3055. Pull with 2500?

Actual weight of 3055. Pull with 2500?

sailorand, this is exactly the kind of info I'm looking for. It tells me that I will likely be 4-500 lbs over with a Chevy 2500 D/A, EC, 4x2 and a Bighorn 3055. I see that lots of people are towing ok with similar rigs, so with a Prodigy, airbags, etc this might work... so I may decide to go...

Actual weight of 3055. Pull with 2500?

Thanks for the replies so far - I'm learning a lot about this stuff. I have looked at the Rally Weigh-in sheet - I wish it had model numbers to know which data are for model 3055's. I realize I'm on the edge, thus the desire for real numbers to see if I'm going over, and if so how much. I...

Actual weight of 3055. Pull with 2500?

I have a 3055 coming in Feb 2007 and am in the market for a used truck. I've settled on Chevy/GMC Duramax and really do not want a dually because it's... well.... too wide. And my wife won't drive it. I want to spend about 25K for a 2003/4 2500, probably 2WD SB EC. I've been doing some...

    Bighorn 3055RL or 3000RL

We'll, we pulled the trigger on a 3055. I think the floor plan will work well for us. The 3000RL is rare (I only found 2 in the midwest/east) and unpopular, and I'm told it's being discontinued. We asked the dealer to wait a few months and order later this year so we take delivery in time...

    Bighorn 3055RL or 3000RL

We've finally settled on Bighorn after looking at Cedar Creek, Montana, Titanium, Sunnybrook... Bighorn offers the most quality and extras for the money. We want a 30 footer, but have not been able to see either the 3055 or the 3000 at our dealer. My wife likes the counter-space on the...
