    Importance of 4x4 for towing/camping?

GaryB, Before you purchase any truck, I would do research on the vehicle that you are going to buy, like you are doing on your future 5er. I would go to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Note: They are unbiased! You will be able to look up Consumer Complaints, Recalls...

LAMP OUT message from truck - nice!

Jim, The newer Rams do have this feature called a self-diagnosing computerized lighting system. If you ever put a brite box on your truck, you will notice that it costs more for the 03 to 06 trucks due to the computerized lighting system it actually takes two brite boxes. Thanks, Wes

    Importance of 4x4 for towing/camping?

Garyb, I have to agree with fireflipper, dieselengineer and Tom. We have 72 acres in Oklahoma and when you need it you have it, sure beats a come-along or waiting on a tow truck. One thing about Oklahoma when it snows, they use road graders to clear the snow. When they decide to clear it. *L*...

Dogs-Life, Please excuse the interruption, I have a curious question for Big Blue!!! :) Big Blue, I have been seeing your posts for the last few months. I am new here so that is why I have to ask this!!! Why if you have a Monticello do you show a Montana hooked to your truck in you...

AirBag Question...Do 2006/7 Ford PSD Still Have Problems?

Gary, check out this website, it talks about the new 6.7 liter Cummins. Notice the WATER COOLED Turbo Charger "No more cool down Timers" and an exhaust brake is built into the turbo Charger, all you will need is a switch in the cab. The 2007.5's will have the new engine and heard the buzz on...

Rick, I have a Prodigy that I use with my existing TT and love it. After what you just wrote my ¾ ton Diesel should have no problems, I know the 31’ TT we have the truck seems to toy with. Take care and good luck, let me know what you do with your dump valve issue! Thanks, Wes

Prospective Buyer - Concerns / Questions

Rick, I was wondering about that when I saw it at the dealer. It is funny how you forget to do basic things while looking at a coach. It really doesn’t help when it is over 100 degrees outside. It’s pretty warm in the coach and the heat is irritating your wife. How does that...

You have a good point Jim, you really do not know about a dealers service until after the sale. Unless you can find people who have purchased from them to find out their experience. skedaddle, the people at Chetopa RV Center in Kansas were great to talk to and seemed to be very knowledgeable. I...

    Shock Absorbers

tgboyd, I have an 04.5 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins 600, I changed out my shocks to Bilstein when I got 15,000 miles. The OEM shocks were fine. As a mater of fact I still have them in case I trade the truck for another. The Bilstein made a dramatic difference, I am very please with them. :)

Fordsd250, I knew that there was a dealer near Littlerock that handled Heartland Products. I had found it doing the Dealer Search on Heartland’s site. Crabtree wasn’t in my search results for my zip code. I just did another search for my zip code and here are the results: Dealer City...

fireflipper, Are you talking about Crabtree RV in Alma, Arkansas? I be darned, I didn't see that one, it is only 74 miles from me and alot nicer drive tan going to Tulsa or Kansas. fireflipper, You hit the nail on the head, I didn’t get a warm and fuzzy with the local dealer and I do not know enough about the dealer to trust him. Prospective Buyer - Concerns / Questions

Fireflipper, I remember reading a thread where someone let their son use their new Sundance and they had problems with their slide. He ended up getting it fixed on the road and heartland reimbursed them. I have seen the two versions: 2900RK and the 2800RLS at the local dealers. They seem to be...

jjjelm, That’s true, I didn’t think about the ordering lead time. Are you having the issues with finding a dealer to do warranty repairs in Wyoming? I think highrail has a strong point. GaryB, I am curious about this also. The local heartland dealer told me that lakeshore strips down the units and that is why they are so cheap. I think that is a bunch of baloney. Then the dealer told me in so many words that he wouldn’t service a product from any other dealer. This almost...

RugRat, thanks for the reply! How happy are you with your purchase? If you were able to do your purchase over again, what would you do different? I am looking at the 2800RLS and the 2900RK.
