EVENT: North American Heartland Rally: IN, Goshen - 6/15/2011 to 6/19/2011

Had a great time at the rally! The seminars were very very helpful for us newbies as were campers near us (IF 507), the NY folks! Service department was great...we had a flooded basement do to a water valve leak...and they fixed it right away! Just want to thank Jim B. and everyone involved in...

    2011 Goshen Rally Agenda

Hi Jim, Allen and I are really looking forward to our first Heartland rally in Goshen...as we have a lot of questions and need more help learning to back up. I see there are more cancellations and was wondering if any were 'full hookups' we could switch to. If not, no biggy. We are assigned...

So sad, our beautiful fav campground, now destroyed.

Wow...that is just awful! I feel so bad for the folks in Alabama. I pray they can re-build and get back on their feet. We donated a bunch of clothes and shoes when 'PaknMail' had a clothing drive for them. They had a ton of donated stuff to be shipped down there.

    great lakes rv center

We bought our BC from them in April and also spent 2 nights at their sevice center so they could help us learn everything about it. Rob Reid helped us with hitching, unhitching and even took us out on the road for a practice run with it and then helped DH back it in again. We are very happy with...

    RVing for Dummies

On Saturday we practice backing up in the driveway. DH did a fair job with me guiding outside. Me backing up, on the otherhand, not good...not good at all! I finally just made a big ole u-turn in our yard (we have the room) and DH jumped in the truck and I drove the BC around town for half...

    RVing for Dummies

I dream of the day when Al and I have our own set routine. I have started a "sloppy copy" check list and add to it with everyone's suggestions. It's just trying to get it all in order. I don't think I would like moving that many times in a cg but it would sure give us a lot of practice...

    TS3 reminder.

Our instrution booklet says there is an 8, 9, and 10 o'clock position for the lever. You pull the release pin and lock the lever in the 8 o'clock position...is this what you are talking about? What is the 'trailer brakes on-pull away test?

Taking the Plunge with 2 Beagles

Having shown dogs in the past, I am a big advocate of ex-pens (play pens for dogs)... and crates. My little guys are older but still crated at night. I think using a ex-pen outside is the way to go for your two beagle girls. I too will have to get a smaller -actually shorter- one for my girls...

    TS3 trailer hitch seems loose

So I did go back to Classy Chassis and, yep, you guys are right. Their expert hitch dude said it was normal for the hitch to wobble like that. Just need to bungee strap it down. I like the 'noodle' or 2x4 idea tho. BTW, DH installed a 'backflip' hard cover over the bed and it does clear the...

Thank you alkyspeed and jmgratz. I think I may take it in today and have it looked at before we hook up and take the BC out for a practice run. Better safe than sorry. BTW...we will be at Goshen rally and would sure appreciate some 'hands on tutoring' with hooking up, disconnecting and leveling.

    TS3 trailer hitch seems loose

We brought our BC home last Wednesday. After disconnecting we were checking the hitch (Hensley TS3) and the 4way tilt seemed really loose. It didn't seem that loose when we hitched up to haul the BC home. Is that normal?

    Northern Minnesota

We are going the last week of June. I was able to book an overnight stay on the way up (26th) at Stoney Creek RV Center in Osseo. Stoney Creek had no openings for the trip back. I went ahead and booked the KOA in Hixton for the trip back. WOW! this booking business can be pretty nerve racking!

Hi mnkamper, thanks, didn't know there was a tourist attraction mine in Tower. DH says the Minorca mine is further north, still mining. And 'no thanks' not my cupatea to go underground  Also, my DH's co-worker said we should check out the KOA in Alma Center, WI for our overnight stay on...

mnkamper, would that be the Minnorca mines? Al has a safey conference in Tower and then a safety audit at the Minnorca mines...that is why we are headed up that way in June. That Burlington Bay cg right on the lake sounds pretty nice...thank you! I think I'm going to need a notebook for...

I believe we will be going up thru Wisconsin on RT53 but throw a couple park names out just in case we stop around Duluth. We like Duluth...stayed in town about 6 years ago. Not familiar with rv/cgs there tho. We are hoping to come to Goshen for the day...maybe we will see ya! Thanks!

    Has anyone noticed??

Re: Has anyone notiiced?? Having just purchase a BC 3450 I can tell you they are still using tires from China. I asked. I am a firm believer in buying "Made in the USA" so DH and I decided to put out the extra money and have the tires swapped out for Goodyear tires. DH and I feel...

We are planning our first 'long haul' maiden trip up to northern Minnesota the last week of June, around Ely. I found an rv park/cg in Babbitt that looks nice...Birch Lake RV Park. Has anyone stayed there and where would be a good one night stay half way up? We are in NW Indiana.

That's good! We will probably go with the 18K then. We bought the 3450 floor plan, 38ft and dry weight of 11,950. We have 'never' hauled anything before and to me that's big! Excited and scared of it all at the same time.
