Congrats to you, we have a 2011 3855 FL and have had a wonderful time with it. Since yours is 5 years old you may want to check the tires, if they still have the towmasters on them, change. We had 3 blow outs in 11 months.
Re: Iowa Rally-2013
Due to my work schedule and the Hawkeye game that weekend, we will not be able to attend the rally at the Amanas this year. Since we are still worker bees, it's hard to get away, especially during the week. Is there any Big Horn owners out there close to Des Moines that...
Like many others, I agree the FW is much easier to tow. With the Heartland front cap you get much less wind drag so your fuel consumption is about the same. If you do not have onsite hookups the FW has larger fresh water and waste tanks.
You'll be about 20 miles away from Iowa City, the Amana area is beautiful in the fall, and for the ladies,,,,,shopping. For the guys, wineries and food.
We are seriously looking at the rally in the Amana's. If you have never been to the Amana's it is a wonderful area. We have not stayed in that campground but have been over to look at it. It is fairly new and nicely laid out.
We are now the proud owners of a 3855FL. Brought it home yesterday with the snow falling all around. Looking forward to some happy camping soon and reading this forum.
The boss has made up her mind, we are going to get the 3855FL. After considering a number of units, she likes the 3855 the best, including the Redwood. I can't complain at all, I get STORAGE space underneath and a Huge TV.
The boss and I are looking at buying a 3855FL. We would appreciate any input any of you might have and any experiences you have encountered, Thanks in advance.
