Uh oh - I went and done it... F550 and Chariot RV hauler bed

Hey, was anyone caught up in the terrible storms in Elkhart County a couple of nights ago ? On the evening news, we saw the GulfStream factory which really took a hit.....scary stuff, hope no one was riding it out in their RV !

    2nd ac in bedroom

The larger 15K BTU air conditioner is ducted thruout our Landmark, including in the bedroom. So on many nights, that may be sufficient. It's only in ungodly hot and humid weather that you'd need the smaller bedroom AC (with or without the other unit). The units are relatively quiet and...

    living in a landmark?

The Landmark is well-constructed, with good R ratings, per the specs on the Heartland RV site. Then you want to be sure you have dual pane windows, 2 heat pumps, etc etc. There are lots of full-timers on this Forum who will weigh in on livin' in their Landmarks!

Brochure from Heartland for Augusta & Cape Cod

Just to be a smart --- , I'm sitting here 4 feet away from Jim Beletti, our wonderful Administrator. He's working on Forum issues , but I'm going to annoy him with all of our RV questions, sort of like a private audience with the Pope;) . KIDDING - Jim is sitting here on our porch, but...

Brochure from Heartland for Augusta & Cape Cod

REALLY nice !!! From seeing the Augusta prototype at the Rally this past Spring, I can honestly say the kitchen is one of the nicest! I didn't like the small bathroom vanity, but it appears that the Cape Cod's corner vanity is much larger ! Hmmm - wonder if they'll offer the best of both...

    Fuel Mileage

2008 Ford F450 - getting 9 mpg towing in the summer with the AC on. When not towing, we're at 13 mpg around town - don't have highway info yet. The truck is new, so figures are still improving upward.

    Plastic boxes for under storage

George now tells me the 'big' boxes are bigger than the dimensions I give, but he can't remember specifics either.;)

    Plastic boxes for under storage

We have all sizes, including some pretty big ones we got at Wal-Mart, with lids. We print labels for each end, so even though they're clear, you can quickly identify what's in them (e.g. Electrical Supplies, Hoses). We can stack them 2 or 3 high - we've got the pull-out tray in our "basement"...

    Lippert rear stabilzer jacks

My recurring theme....THIS IS THE KIND OF COMPANY WE WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH.....Heartland and their big suppliers, like Lippert, are top-notch in the customer support arena. Glad to hear it 's working out for you:)

    Stuff needed to get started

Hey, Ken and Kathy - is your water pressure impacted by the use of whole house filtering systems ? We've been told that 's a concern.... To the new RV'ers - CONGRATS! I have to agree with the advice to go to Camping World for supplies. Don't forget the black tank chemicals and 'special'...

    Saw A Landmark !!

George and I were returning from Urbanna VA today on Rt 15 near Luckett, VA -about 2:30 Monday afternoon. I started yelling "Flash your lights" , as I saw this big LANDMARK coming toward us, southbound, pulled by a white dually (Ford, I think?) - he saw us and boy, we were all waving and...

    BethPage Resort - URBANNA VA

I will ask George if he can post the pics....he hasn't taken too many of the actual CG 'cause we've been too busy ! I promise - it's all it's advertised to be. Spotless, huge sites, trees , lots to do etc etc. We're hooked.

    BethPage Resort - URBANNA VA

George and I (and the Boys) are sitting on a beautiful site at BethPage Resort in VA. It's a 5-star rated CG and we now know why....1000 sites, including many, many for transients (seasonals have all the waterfront. We're on the beautiful Rappahannock River). Most of the sites are shaded...

    BigHorn purchase

We love our Landmark - you can get some really good deals, especially on NEW left-overs sitting on dealer lots. We ordered ours and still got a heck of a deal - we had a price in mind and almost stuck to it (those darn options;) Anyway, regardless of what Heartland product you get, I think...

    Getting Cold Feet

RV'ing , almost by definition, involves lots of DIY or "honey-do's" to keep the rig in tip-top shape, especially since it travels over bumps in the road at 60 mph ! Having said that, the Heartland products are just wonderful - well designed and well constructed. This is a company that stands...

PA RV and Camping - Sept 12-16, 2007 - Hershey, PA

Hey, Jim - thanks for fixing my 'link' to the Show info - if you're going to be there that weekend, we will definitely catch up with you on Friday the 14th. Be sure to post what dealer you'll be with, so we can all find you! Actually, the only Heartland dealer in PA that I'm aware of is...

Here's a link to info on the Hershey RV show....Sept 12 -16. It's a terrific show, with lots of vendors inside and out. We live 20 minutes away,so I always take a day off work so we can avoid the weekend crowd....its a great time ! Link fixed. Admin :)

    Big Horn Dealers

HARTLAND RV outlet was at the Rally this year....they had some models on display - great folks. If we ever get another one (we love ours, so have no immediate plans to trade in, since it's so new) , we'll work with them. THey are on very good terms with the factory, since they are such a great...

    Differences in the Landmark RV's

We were just like GoldenWingers - loved the Grand Canyon's kitchen on paper, but found it too confining once we got in one. We got the Mt Rushmore with free-standing island, which provides tons of counterspace that you can completely walk around. - plus it adds drawers and a huge 2 shelf...

    Free at Last

Be sure to get dual pane windows and I recommend a 2nd AC in the bedroom. We upgraded to the large Ultraleather recliners, only to decide they're too big for the unit. So we gave them to George's daughter and her new husband and bought smaller cloth recliners, which we like better. We also...

Anyone using storage comparment slide-out tray?

We also have the pull-out tray in our Landmark....it's VERY sturdy and has a locking mechanism. George doesn't know what he'd do without it, as he easily slides it out to get to all the things stored dead-center, without having to empty one end or the other of the 'basement' area. We think...

    Dry Wasn'N Guard

The Ultra Ion is the "better" of the 2, for gelcoat and to protect against harmful sun rays. We use the Ultra "just because"....:o Agree - this was a GOOD mistake !

    08 Bighorn Damage on delivery

CODENCARS - look on the internet for a dealer closer to home or call the factory for an authorized dealer to help you with your issues. You'll be amazed at the support you'll get from Heartland....they WILL stand behind the product (and you), even if your selling dealer won't. Good luck - once...

Where are the 3370RL owners ?

Don't have your unit, but want to say HI to a fellow Heartlander... you'll hear from folks soon, I'm sure. We LOVE our 5th wheel - it doesn't get any better:)

    Cleaning and Polishing

We also use the Dri n Wash - it 's awesome. The RV gleams ! It takes some muscle, but that's one of George's strong points:p I offer encouragement and cold lemonade !!

    Mt. Rushmore Kitchen Outlets

THere are outlets under the kitchen cabinets, as suspected. Also one on the end of the island, if you got that option (hope you did - it's great and adds so much storage and counter top !)

    "Is this Enough Truck?"

We pulled our Mt Rushmore with an F350 dually without any problem....the problems only started when my husband first saw the '08 F450 (check our signature  )

    Sundance Dealer Concerns

We have an '07 Landmark, which isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn close in our opinion. Our only problems have been very minor. There isn't a rig out there that won't have some issues after being dragged down a highway at 60 mph ! We did a lot of research for "mid high-end" 5th wheels and...

    2008 Rally - Branson, Missouri - June 12-15, 2008 - General Thread

I certainly appreciate the "come one, come all" philosophy. However, the Heartland Rallies wouldn't be the communal events that they are if we all brought friends and families along. We'd all tend to hang out with our buddies and wouldn't mingle and meet other Owners with the same...

    water heater door gone

Is Jim the best thing ever OR WHAT ?! He knows everything or can point you to who does !! The man's a genius (plus he has 2 Yorkies and we all know that 2-Yorkie owners are wonderful folk:rolleyes: ) Seriously, what would we do without this forum - it's the best!

    Back from Lake Raystown

For anyone considering a trip to PA, book a site at Lake Raystown Resort & Marina, in Entriken PA. Lake Raystown was man-made (Army Corps of Engineers) about 25 - 30 yrs ago. It's over 30 miles long , with 118 miles of shoreline. This particular campground is really the only one for tents up...
