Check your license plate holder for water infiltration!!!!!!!

OK, I've been censored twice for bashing Heartland, so I'll try to be more diplomatic this time. The only reason I can think as to why they drilled such a large hole for two wires is they use one drill bit for all the holes which saves time/money. However, I think Heartland should review...

Check your license plate holder for water infiltration!!!!!!!

We have an MPG-181 and the left rear storage compartment the white strip molding was lose. So I popped it off thinking I would re-nail it. While I had it off I noticed wet saw dust laying in the bottom of the gap between the floor and the back wall. The bottom of the wall is also spongy. I...

ATF: MPG - Additional Storage Area for MPG

Give Heartland a call 877-262-8032 and be prepared to give them your VIN. Ask them to fax you a copy of the Framing blueprints for your MPG; That's what we did last year, and they were very helpful. m

Picking up my MPG 184 this weekend ...

Welcome to the MPG club. My only concern is what is your Honda's towing capability? If it's 3,500Lbs you are pushing the safety envelop. The 184 base weight is 2,988, and that doesn't include the battery. Remember, the towing capacity is calculated with a driver only, and all additional weight...

Attaching things / hardware - MPG construction & structure?

We use 3M Command hooks, and also use Heavy Duty double sided automotive tape. If you need to attach to a stud, you can call Heartland Customer Service: 877-262-8032, and ask them to fax you a copy of the drawings for your MPG; you will need to give them your VIN. I would double check with a...

parts language - awning cable channel

The channel is called "Awning Rail", "Awning Channel", or "Awning Track", depending who you buy from. The strip is called "Awning Rope" http://www.sailrite.com/Awning-Rope-Vinyl-3-8 this is just a sample, as I don't know what the correct size is. Both are available at Sailrite

    Fiberglass MPG Roof badly oxidized??

I used some simple automotive polishing compound on a small area it quickly removed the oxidation; I then put a coat of Meguiars Ultimate wax on, and it looks as good as new. Meguiars has a product for RV's called Mirror Glaze HD Oxidation Remover, Nubmer M4916 which I will try as soon as I can...

    ATF: MPG - hitch capacity

What does the label on your hitch indicate? The label on our MPG-181 indicates 250 Lbs., but I had heard it was lowered to 125 Lbs., so I called Heartland. They indicated the capacity for my 181 was 250 Lbs. as shown on my label. However, they realized that folks have a propensity to overload...

    I'm a new member.....I've got some questions!

We've had our MPG-181 for a year now and love it. We did not have the axle issue, so can't talk to that. Overall, the MPG is a fine camper.

    Fiberglass MPG Roof badly oxidized??

The roof of our 2011 MPG is badly oxidized with no gloss. I've waxed it, but really no shine to speak of. The front and back still have a nice glossy finish but the oxidation begins where they curve into the top of the roof. The sides still have a glossy finish and polish up well. Anyone else...

ATF: MPG - tech question - load limits

From what I was told by Heartland Customer Service, the battery is not included in the dry weight number on the yellow sticker. The "Empty" propane tanks are included in the dry weight. The fridge and toilet are also incuded in the dry weight. As for the weight of "Stuff": I actually weighed...

    Is your MPG roof oxidized?

We have a 2011 MPG, and last fall I noticed that our roof was noticeably oxidized. I was surprised since the roof and front & back are one piece fiberglass. The front, back, and sides are still glossy and smooth, and polish up fine. I would have expected it after 5-10 years, but not this soon...

"C" rated tires to "D" rated tires.......

Yes, that is true. I figured I would start at 55 or 60 PSI and see how it goes. Isn't the "D" tire a better/stronger tire overall? I thought the "C" was 6 ply, and the "D" was 8 ply?

"C" rated tires to "D" rated tires.......

"C" rated tires to "D" rated tires.......

I posted this on the MPG forum, but figure it belongs here. I currently have a 2011 MPG with thePlatnum Package. The MPG currently has 15" Towmax "C" loadrangetires, and I wanted to upgrade to the 15" loadrange "D" tires for an extra margin of safety. The "C" range tires= 50 PSI; "D" range= 65...

ATF: MPG - Going from C range to D range Tires

Well,.......here's a new twist. According to Heartland Customer Service, the MPG rims are only rated to handle 50 PSI, and they do not recommend exceeding that pressure. UPDATE: Just got ahold of the company that supplies the wheels to Heartland, and according to them, my wheels are rated to...

ATF: MPG - Going from C range to D range Tires

Jatadis,.....thank you for your detailed post, but it was a little too in depth for my purposes; simply put- way over my head. The only reason I want to go to "D" range tires is my simple mind tells me that an 8ply tire "D" range tire should provide me an extra margin of safety over a 6ply "C"...

I currently have a 2011 MPG with the Platnum Package. The MPG currently has 15" Towmax "C" rated tires. I would like to go with the 15" loadrange "D" tires, and would like to know if the wheels are rated for the extra pressure? EDIT: "C" range= 50 PSI; "D" range= 65 PSI Thank you

    Poor Bottom Slide Gasket!!!

We were camping this past weekend, and were in an area loaded with stink bugs. I never gave the slide a thought as the top and side gaskets look to seal fairly well. MPG Owners: How Many miles do you have on your tires?

We have a 2011 MPG-181, and have about 6,000 miles on it. The Towmax tires are showing some tread wear, but appear to be in good shape. Just wondering how many miles you have on your tires, and if you've had any problems with them. If you've replaced them, how many miles did you have when you...
