I can tell ya what not to do.... I bought a Wireless camera system from Auto Zone. It works great for backing up. I put it in a project box (you can get from Radio Shack) so I can take it off when not in use. But this is where I went too far, I decided it would be a good idea to use it as a rear...
We are more than satisfied with our MPG but two reoccurring problems are storing the two corner cushions and the two that go over the folded table are way to soft for sleeping on. We've put the two corner cushions in the bathroom but when you've got to use the bathroom in the middle night its a...
We picked up our 183 one year ago. Over the course of the year we camped out 4 times, one of which was 2,200 miles round trip. All of those were done with a 95 pound, 11yr old rescue greyhound named "Bug". As hard as it may be to believe it still worked having him with us. He was trained to lay...
We're planning our first long trip with our camper and are not familiar with good pit stops to make with the camper. Rest stops, food, and fueling or all at once which wood be preferred.
The planned route so far is I-95 to I-26 to I-77 to I-81... I'm using Microsoft Streets & Trips which...
Porthole,
Thank you very much for the info, very informative. I'm going to have to research more on my power output or at least what demand the camper should have. My AC is small but have no idea what the actual specs are, it was like new when we bought the camper but there was no paperwork...
Thanks for the reply,
Maybe I should have gave more information too... We plan on going the regular hookup route when we make plans but thankfully we have the unique opportunity to go on day trips to the beach where there would not normally be hookups. Also living in Florida, I was thinking...
We've toyed with the idea of getting a quiet generator for our camper but have no clue what size would be best for our 183. I really don't want to go out and get one that's larger than we need. A 3000watt sounds like the smart choice but if a 2000 watt is sufficient I would rather save the...
Thanks for all the responses... After reading them it seems obvious it needs to be lit with an outside source. Still can't understand why the warning is along side the stove. When we bought our MPG it was very slightly used and had no manuals. The dealer was very informative but considering this...
The only thing on the stove top is Suburban... To get the knob to turn to the on position you have to push down and turn counter clockwise. It only turns about 120 degrees.
We recently purchased our 183. I've found the stove isn't igniting when I turn it to light. There is no sound but I can smell gas when I turn the knob. Is this a similar system as a gas grill in the sense it should make a ticking sound when you try to start it? On the wall near the stove top it...
That is cool.... We will go over the manual like you mentioned and pull out what we could use. But we totally appreciate the offer. I will let you know as we go.... thank you so much!!!
Actually ours didn't come with any manual. I saw they have a general manual you can print out at the Heartland website. Would it be a waste of time to print it? The dealer went over everything we need to know but we both were overwhelmed and over excited to remember most of it. I know most of...
We purchased our 183 this week and finally have it in the driveway today :D!!!!. I feel I've done my homework before making the step of buying one but I know with anything you never know too much and considering we are totally new to this any tip or trick is appreciated. And we were also...
