    Slides and cabinet doors!

Dusty, you're right. We put up with trying to resolve this situation of that heavy pantry pulling out of the top until we had all the fun we could stand!! We had our dealer pull it out, put in the wire pantry which slides out very nicely, thank you very much, and NO MORE PROBLEMS!!!! It was...

    Colmans Country Campers

We bought our 3400RL from Colmans last year, and have had numerous problems. Thank goodness we bought from a dealer who really cares about doing the right thing and making you happy. JD in parts and Brian in Service have been wonderful.....can't say enough nice things about them. We just had...

    A/C Temps

Check all the posts under this section.....we have several regarding this problem. We had the same problem, put in a 2nd unit (factory told us this was the only solution last year), but the thing that did the trick was cutting 3 more vents, 1 in the kitchen, and 2 more in line with the back 2...

    So what are the....

GQ, I completely forgot about the most important thing!!! We had to have new axles last month. There was a batch sent from Al-ko that didn't have enough camber in them along about that time. We were suspicious at the time we bought it because the distance between the tires on the left and right...

    Slide bottom covering ripping off

Last weekend found that the covering on our big living room slide is tearing off in chunks on both ends right at the edge. The material looks like some kind of contact paper type material, covering a wood like substance which doesn't appear to be real wood, but is soft and tears off sticking...

    Bighorn 3055RL

Wood Pantry Shelves Our 3400RL had the big, heavy wooden shelves in the pantry also. They would not stay closed, we added extra closures, etc, but it kept pulling out of the top. Soooo, we had our dealer order the wire basket and hardware, and changed it over to the new style. ABSOLUTELY...

    Insurance

When we went full time last November, our Insurance Company, USAA, didn't cover us, so we got quotes from Good Sam and Progressive......both had same coverage, Progressive was $300 cheaper. Fortunately haven't had to test it yet, but figured since it was the same coverage, might as well save a...

    My Travels & Heartland Sightings

We changed our plans and headed east instead of to the hot, hot, hot weather in Montana. We are now in Ludington, Michigan and going up to Petoskey and spend the next month going across the UP and down the east side of Wisconsin. Saw several Landmarks & Big Horns leaving Elkhart and headed...

    My Travels & Heartland Sightings

Midas, when we went to Gaitlinburg last July, it took 2:45 min to go the 24 miles from I-40 to Gaitlinburg, and we found out that was fast!!! It is HORRIBLE with traffic. If you leave the park and go as far as Dollywood, about 6 miles, it could take 2 hours to get back, especially on the...

    Have to get new axles

Sorry, didn't mean to imply we have been out of luck for 3 weeks! We live full time, and just had to wait for the axles to arrive and had some other things to take care of, and had to wait to get an appt. And it was the Heartland Factory that chose the type of tire we were to get. We hope...

    Have to get new axles

Had the new axles and tires installed yesterday by our dealer. You could definitely see the additional amount of arch in the new axles!!! Got 4 new tires also. The factory wouldn't spring for more then the cheapest tires, so we "upgraded". Will be heading out from St. Louis for Wyoming &...

    New Owner (almost) warrantee ?

We had extended warranty with our other 5th wheel which we had for 7 years, and had to use it twice. They paid immediately, were very nice and co-operative. We bought the same plan when we traded a year ago for our Big Horn 3400RL. The company we use is through Good Sam, CSP Continued Warranty...

Air Conditioner Will Not Shut Off

No replacements as far as we know. They just disconnected the sensor up on the unit. Since then, our dealer has also replaced the a/c grill with a new type that Dometic sent out to them. The wall thermostat is soooo much better!!! Hope that is the answer for you.

    Overweight

Ignorance is bliss???? It's not ignorance if you are fully aware that you should get weighed. And, it takes less then 5 minutes to do so. While you are fueling, get your wife to run in and pay for the weigh, drive over to the scale, drive back to the front door and pick her up with the papers...

Air Conditioner Will Not Shut Off

Our dealer replaced the remote with a wall thermostat a week after we purchased it a year ago. A/C was freezing up, etc, etc, the factory quit using them quite a while ago. Lots of a/c problems listed in this forum, read up on them and maybe print them up and take to your dealer for them to...

    Air conditioner report.

After 1 year of a/c problems, adding a 2nd unit, factory coming & cutting additional vents, etc, etc, did the "vent tent" and WOW!!! Really can feel air in the rear setting in the chairs now!!! Thank you, Tim. I copied and sent the info to our dealer, and they were very appreciative and...

    Have to get new axles

Well, just when we thought we had everything FINALLY fixed on our Big Horn, found out we have to have new axles. Apparently Al Ko sent out a batch without enough camber, so tires are going fast. All tires have excessive wear on inside & right rear worn more then the rest, suggesting axle...

    Heater Duct 'popping'

Heater Duct Popping Okay, JoPa, I got my husband to sit down and write out exactly what he did, so here goes: Our most noise was from the rear vent area so removed vent grill and wedged a 1x3" styrofoam piece in the duct at the forward edge of the vent. While on the road, the styrofoam...

    Bedroom A.C. Prep

Bedroom A/C Yes, Bill, you can. We had to add one. Our a/c just wasn't working worth a dang when we bought our Big Horn last spring, and the factory said the only answer was to put in 2nd a/c. Well, that wasn't the answer, cutting more vents in the living area and finding crushed duct and air...

    Heater Duct 'popping'

Heater Duct Popping We posted our fix on this a while back in another thread about this under Landmark. We cut out styrofoam strips and inserted them into the ducts, and it stopped the noise. They fell during travel after a few days, but we put them back and they have been quiet ever since...

    Heater Duct 'popping'

Heater Duct Popping JoPa, if you look in this thread, we posted a reply to this problem a while back. Ours popped so loud and hard that it sounded and felt like someone had hit the trailer. My husband fixed it. And Scott's answer is certainly typical of his answer on everything. Tinkers...

    Heater duct "popping"

Heater Duct Popping We experienced the same thing the first time we used ours....at first, we thought someone had banged on the side of the trailer!!! It actually would shake the whole trailer!!! Considering 3400RL

Buckeye, we bought a 3400RL last May, and had many serious issues, but our dealer was WONDERFUL with getting them resolved. Factory response was disappointing, and our dealer did say that the factory will reimburse only a limited amount of work. As a result, they have lost dealers. We only...

    Fireplace Concerns

My husband will not let go of something until he solves the mystery. After removing the front of the fireplace and finding it is setting on carpet, he called the fireplace manufacturer regarding this. They were not surprised that Heartland had not followed their instructions, but said this...

    Fireplace Concerns

    P. S. The one warning in the manual we were concerned about is the one which says do not install directly on carpet. We took the front off this morning, and indeed, the installation is directly on the carpet. There are vents on the bottom of the fireplace that are supposed to be open, and...

Tinkers-Pat Mike, we have EXACTLY the same problem with our Bighorn fireplace. It gets so hot that it has discolored the wood above it, and gets hot all the way up to the tv. I have moved the cd's that I was keeping in the cabinet with the dvd/cd player. We are in Florida for the winter, and...
