    Houston RV Show

Went down to the 2015 show today and looked at some possible full time rigs for down the road in a few years.... planning the ESCAPE! Comments: I looked at Big Country and Landmark. I like both. Specifically - I like the Key West Landmark and the BC3900FLP. The model at the show does not...

found it... //heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/49242-SOLVED-Furnace-comes-on-when-Dometic-AC-is-on I knew the answer would be here. Now to see if this works?

Coach heater and main AC cycle on together

Hey folks, I am guessing this is posted on here some where, but I have not had the chance to run my heater on the Cyclone 3010 until recently. When the heat comes on... so does the main cabin AC unit. I am plugged into shore power and have not tried it unplugged.... any guesses as to...

So what are your temperature limits for camping in your trailer?

Wondering where you go and where you stay. Living this far south, if I book hotels over the school breaks, I generally choose Wolf Creek as it always has snow over Christmas. Where do you go and what campgrounds? Also, I guess if you pull north -- do you have to winterize for the transit...

2013 Ram Mega or Crew Cab?

I have a 2012 SRW Mega. My hitch is not a slider and I have not come anywhere close on tight turns. However, if ground is not level or trying to u turn on a narrow 2 lane... probably would not be as comfortable. Room in the back for three teenage girls is great. We also have a 20# mutt that...

ATF: Cyclone - LED lights on awnings cyclones?

The awning lights are very nice. We were complimented -- even by cyclone owners that now want a retrofit. Enjoy them!

    Cyclone 4100? TV?

I am pulling with a Ram Mega and no slider hitch. So far, I have not come close to contacting truck to trailer. But I watch very carefully when turning and backing. Where I think you would hit the only limitation is if you found yourself on a narrow two lane road and due to some unforeseen...

    San Antonio camp grounds

We spent a week at Blazing Star RV Resort. It is a full service RV park with many cottages. It is also on the military side of town, right by sea world. http://www.sunrvresorts.com/Community/BST.aspx Many full timers and many just passing through. The cottages looked very nice... kind of...

    Shake Down - Finally

Thanks for the note. I did not run it last week. I ran it at PDI and once at storage, but for ~5 minutes or less. I have filled the fuel cell and stabilized. I plan to break in the genny when at a more remote campground. So 1/2 load sounds like run the coach AC and 3/4 means turn the...

    Shake Down - Finally

Shake down complete. Ram 3500 pulled the trailer no problem between Hou and SAT. Cruised I-10 at 70 mph on cruise control with no issues. The pin weight is a bit heavy for a SRW, I want to upgrade to a DRW -- but this trip proved to me that my truck handles the trailer just fine. The unit...

    Shake Down - Finally

Safety alert: For those that have had toyhaulers with happy jack beds, get ready to chuckle. I am guessing that during the PDI, the tech told us that we needed to run the lower bunk up, prior to pulling the keepers on the upper bunk. I found the missing keeper mentioned below in the far...

    Shake Down - Finally

So far shakedown is going well. No water leaks after being on city for about 24 hours. Got cable working in living room, but not master bedroom through either connection. Question - what does the button that makes the red light on the cable outlet do? Guessing antenna booster, but makes no...

    Shake Down - Finally

I booked the Blazing Star -- it has real good reviews, but looks like a sardine package from the satellite view. I sprung for the high dollar site so hoping for shade and a little space. We have stayed in several KOAs and so far all positive experiences. I may try the SAT KOA next time we...

    Shake Down - Finally

Dear Forum Friends, The good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we will go on our first trip this next week. We ordered the trailer in Feb, brought it home in May and have had it in storage since. We will pull from Cypress to San Antonio this weekend and will be in a park for 7 days. I...

Trip / Route Planning Input for Louisiana to Seattle Trek this summer

I have been on some of those trails. I pulled Monarch last summer as well as Slumgullion and Wolf Creek. --- Ram 350 and 10k 5er was no sweat. You mentioned 141... did you mean 114? I have driven that a while back and do not remember any serious passes but if that is the road I remember...

    Thank You and quick question

So when you plug into shore or fire up the genny... what is average amount of time before power to the coach comes through? So far, I have seen ~30 seconds on genny and up to 2 to 5 minutes from shore power.

Trip / Route Planning Input for Louisiana to Seattle Trek this summer

Agreed and I-40 from Amarillo to ABQ can be high cross winds too. Heading to Denver, recommend TX route that involves 287 to AMA and then angle up to I-25 at Raton, NM. Pretty country once you get to NE NM and then easy pull into Denver. Good luck and best wishes for a great trip. JP

    For all you Dodge lovers

Drove from Houston to San Antonio today for biz trip. Counted RV TVs as such. 10 Ford / 4 Chevy / 2 Dodge. I did not count the 2 go carts pulling the casitas, but man bet those would be cool to camp in.

Leaving grey tanks open in parks

I fulltimed for about three months last summer, with wife and kids, waiting on new home construction. I left my grey valve "cracked" open to keep up with showers etc.., but day before I needed to dump black, would shut the grey to let it fill for rinse of system after dumping black. Maybe...

    For all you Dodge lovers

To keep the towing thread alive too. I used the think that over half the RVs on the road were weight #s mismatched to the TV -- I am now convinced that estimate is too low. I had to get the sales rep to pull a 20 page towing table document by Ram's weight engineers. Nowin 2013 you have to...

    For all you Dodge lovers

I have heard that Dually 4WD does not buy you that much as the weight is spread so far out over the rear tires. I read in one forum that a 4WD dually will get stuck in wet grass without even digging in. Anyone out there have similar / disimilar experiences?

    For all you Dodge lovers

If I may add to this thread: 1. I plan to upgrade to DRW now that I have considerable more pin weight. Have been looking at Ford and Ram '13s. 2. Concern with Ford is that engine breaking is not true jake, but a computerized downshift -- Ford people seem to think they are great; however...

Prospective no more - new 3010 HD

decals, the full body paint was a $10k upgrade and we already had enough in the trailer. as to storage, you know what they say, in TX everything is bigger. I actually have two spots, wanted to be able to center the trailer and minimze sun when not in use. One day when the yard fills up, I...

    Almost a Major Faux Pas

While we are in confession mode. Left the water pump on in a previous trailer, hit a curb leaving point A and our frozen margarita machine turned over onto the kitchen sink water faucet.... 35 miles later for a planned diesel stop, water is running out the back corner of the trailer. :-) And...

    Pdi

We had a great PDI at Camping World Katy TX. Don was the tech, he lives in an RV fulltime, so not only knew about the trailer - pointed out a lot of things to consider while using a trailer. The best part... we did the outside first and then went inside just as it started raining. Then a...

Intro - New 2014 Cy 3010 HD owner

Hello to all. I have been lurking here for about 3 months as I was planning to purchase, ordered and today signed my life away. I thought I was buying a 2013, but the paperwork came across as 2014 --- not sure how to tell the dif. I have a KLX 450 and 140 and need a 110 for my youngest and a...

    Albuquerque KOA

We have stayed at the Bernalillo KOA on two occasions during 2012. We had no issues. First time was in March and we saw a lot of snowbirds making their trek back north. Second time was in June and we overnighted on our move back to TX from four corners area. We stayed in a 36' long 5er with...
