    Pineapple Upside-down Cake

This is my kind of easy desert to make when we are out camping. Tried it out at home and it was declared a keeper: Using a muffin tin, line the bottom of each one with canned crushed pineapples (squeeze out some of the juice first.) Place a cherry in the middle of the pineapple. Sprinkle with...

2008 Southwest Regional (Houston, TX) Spring Rally - Being Planned...

Fellow Heartland Owners, Tommy and I are quite bummed that we won't be able to make the spring rally and visit with everyone again. Work and home improvement projects are just getting in the way at this point. Since we do live so close, however, maybe we can squeeze in a short day visit...

    Exterior Door Lock Replacement

Here is our solution: DH & I ONLY carry a front door key on our key chains. The back door keys are hidden on the outside of the unit, in case of emergency. No mistaking of keys as we enter & exit & yet a spare (only for the back) is always there if we lose the main door keys.

    Exterior Speakers Leaking

Here's Tommy's method for solving the problem. Remove the speaker. Caulk behind the speaker, then reinstall the speaker. And yes, the weep holes are at the bottom. Simply unclogging the weep hole will not completely solve the problem. They need to be removed, caulked & put back in, because...

    Fuel Filling Painfully slow?

We have the exact same problem on our 3912. As a matter of fact, my husband said he wasn't even able to get it to go in as fast as 2 min per gallon! His rate was even slower. We would love to hear a solution. At this point we feel it is easier to just fill up our toys the old fashioned way, with...

Summer Vacation 2007 - West Texas

Since we are about to head out on vacation I just thought I'd share our plans. We leave on Sat, July 14 and will be heading to Balmorhea State Park. Tommy and I will be going with our grown daughter and her boyfriend, along with our sister, her husband and their two children, plus Tommy's dad...

    Exterior Speakers Leaking

We have been contacted by someone at Heartland and they will be contacting our dealership to get repairs made. Now that the speakers are not leaking any more, we are good to go on vacation and will get the cabinets replaced sometime after we return. Just wanted to give a positive update!

2007 Fall Houston, Texas Rally - planned (Oct. 19-21 - details here)

Hi all! Tommy and I would like to come to the rally as well, so put us on the list! I'll call the park and let them know we are part of the group. It's only 10-15 minutes from home, but hey, anywhere but home is camping, right?!

    Exterior Speakers Leaking

Well, we have figured out what the problem is that caused the speakers to leak. I'll try and explain as best as a non-mechanical woman can. :) There are weep holes on the sides of the speakers. When they were installed instead of caulking them inside this weep hole, and therefore allowing the...

    Exterior Speakers Leaking

We have since checked the two rear speakers (over the cargo door) and they appear the be leaking as well. The wood on the inside of the cargo area at the top is warped, the paper is peeling off and there is rusting on the metal piece that is under the edge of the wood on the inside of the cargo...

    Exterior Speakers Leaking

We have discovered a major problem with our brand new Cyclone 3912. Upon taking it out camping for the 1st time, we noticed that the marine speakers (exterior ones) are leaking into the camper on the inside! I opened the corner cabinet near the cargo door to straighten a picture that fell during...

    Underbed Storage

We too realized that this space is used by the slide. And you're right, there really is enough other storage available. :)

New Owners of a Cyclone 3912

We arrived home in our new Cyclone 3912 today and have been outside in it all evening. I even ended up cooking dinner out there! We pulled the travel trailer up at the dealership and pretty much just threw everything in there so I've been trying to get everything in its place. Much harder to do...

    Underbed Storage

We noticed yesterday that there was no under bed storage on the Cyclone 3912 we are purchasing. Since there are so many other features of the 3912 that we like and the abundant amount of storage in the unit, we thought we would be fine without this extra storage area. However, we have owned many...

I have enough HP but do I have enough truck?

We haven't towed our 3-axle 5th wheel yet, but will be once we take delivery of it and we will be towing it with a GMC 2500 diesel. I can say that our reading of the owner's manual for the truck shows that the 3500 is not rated to tow any more than the 2500. There was not information for a 4500...

New Owners of a Cyclone 3912

We traded our 06 Jayco TT in for a Cyclone 3912 today and we couldn't be more excited! We are taking the truck in to have the hitch put in on Wednesday and should be bringing the Cyclone home the same day. We plan to take an extended weekend trip up to Lake Livingston (north of Houston) over...
