    Manual to Electric Awning Replacement

Have 2008 Bighorn 3400 RL. It came with the manual awning. I am now considering the electric option. I contacted Camping World interested in the Dometic 9100. However they are concerned about the front rail on the Bighorn, because it is shorter that the 9100 may not work. Here is the...

Bad Experience with Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch by Cequent

I understand, they only sent the center part of the hitch, not a whole new one, which had to be changed out. It bothered me I had to pay the shop to install the new part. I probably will have the old one welded properly as a spare, and keep a very close eye on the new part.

Bad Experience with Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch by Cequent

Your right, subject line is changed. But I do feel that this could cause a terrible accident. So my title probably expressed my frustration that they did not seem to care about the problem. If I were the manufacturer of something aas important as this piece, I would be very interested in...

Dear Bighorn Owners I am writing this to let everyone know about a near catastrophic experience I had with the 18K Signature Series RV hitch, by REESE, distributed by CEQUENT. the hitch is 5 years old, I tow a 3400 RL. I use it recreationally only, it is not over loaded. I use a 2008 Chevy...

Tires - China bombs going off!!

Thanks everyone for your input. I ended up with the Goodyear G 614, I took the blown China bomb and rim in first to the tire store, to make sure everything was going to be ok. They checked and compared, the slight difference had no effect on my rig. The rims are rated at 110 PSI. I still have...

    Camping World

Just thought I would share poor service experience with Camping World. I should say no service. On a recent trip in Oregon, one of my China bombs decided to explode. This was on a Sunday. I went to the closest Camping World (Wilsonville) in hopes of replacing with the Goodyear G614. They had...

Buying this year, Questions (Montana vs. Bighorn)

We looked at both the Montana and the Bighorn. We thought the Bighorn was a better deal, I also liked the capacities of the Bighorn, It seemed that the Bighorn had larger tanks all around than Montana. I dealt with a local RV repair shop, they do not sell RV's they only work on them. I went...

    Mouse problem

We dont like to use poison because if the little critter dies in the rig it smells for a long time. I finally settled on just old fashioned mouse traps, I keep two on each side of the basement. When we use the rig I just spring them and reset when the coach will be sitting for awhile. We also...

Starting to change my mind on Heartland

I have a 2008 Bighorn 3400 RL. I had a few issues with it when I bought it. Heartland was very responsive, even letting me take to the RV shop of my choice (not the dealer). Since then everything has worked great. We are very happy with our Bighorn, we dont plan on buying another because we...

Bighorn Entertainment Systems Standards and Options

Cmart, can you tell me what you have everything set too on your system. Your are saying sound is coming from TV not from ceiling speakers. you may need to check inputs on receiver, and make sure you have it set correctly. You can use the TV's speaker and watch TV and Movies, or you turn the...

What receiver do you have? We had a colby unit on our 2008, it didnt work right first time out. replaced with a Sony unit, solved the problem. Speaker wires usually either work or dont. Speaker wires can easily be checked with continuity checker however I doubt that is the problem. Even an...

Black Water Flush Water Leaking In Bathroom

Wayne - is your black tank showing full? If it is, I bet you have a plug in the drain line, perhaps toilet paper etc. When you use the tank flush it is overfilling the tank. I have a clear elbow so I can make sure that the black tank is draining properly, and also to know when it is flushed clean.

    Dealing with "critters"

We also have had rodent problems in the past. I do not recomend you use d-con, as when rodent dies in coach you will not enjoy the odor. We use an "electric" mouse trap that can be bought at lowes of home depot. We keep that inside the coach, it has worked well in that you dont have to worry...

    Bighorn Cover

To be honest I am not sure. I did get the 14 gauge, when I talked to the local dealer he said that was fine for the snow load we have here. I know you can order the 12 gauge for better load if that is a concern. The dealer I ordered from seemed to know the product well, so far I have had a...

ADCO Cover - Covering BigHorn for winter

We live in Bend, Oregon which is on east side of the cascade range. Our climate is subject to dramatic changes in temperature, wind, snow etc. I tried an ADCO RV cover, I was not very happy with it. It is not uncommon for us to get winds in excess of 50MPH. No matter what I did the ADCO...

    Towing a Big Horn

I agree you have to watch the weights, I do not tow full of fresh water, or have full holding tanks. If you use common sense you can keep weights well within factory specs. My truck has a trailer weight of limit of 13,600 lbs. Bighorn is 11,500 dry. Dont overload your trailer! The Chev...

BigHorn 3055 Pocket Door- off track

I also had trouble. Found out that the track inside the pocket did not have enough screws securing it to ceiling. New Tires

Tire pressure monitoring is the only way to go. I think the tires get the blame and may not be the cause. My last leak was valve stems, which I replaced with steel. If I hadn't of had the monitoring system that warned me one tire was low, I would have blamed it on the tires...
