    All New LM365 Newport

Tom, My wife and I used to own a Landmark Augusta and we loved the trailer. For many reasons, we ended up buying a Carriage Carri-Lite in 2010. We recently looked at a Heartland LM Newport and, while we loved the floorplan and many of the features, I was very disappointed with it's weight...

    Campground in San Antonio TX

We also stayed at the KOA in San Antonio for a week. We enjoyed the campground. It is large and open with mature trees and a creek on one edge. Like the others here, we enjoyed being so close to public transportation and we also availed ourselves of the bus tour that picks you up right at the...

Towing with a 2006 Ford Expedition

Several years ago, we owned a 27 foot Sportsmen travel trailer that we towed with a 1/2 ton chevrolet suburban. The suburban could tow the trailer OK, but where it gave me white knuckles was when a semi tractor trailer would either pass us going in the same direction in which case I would have...

    DP Tuner in my F350

A couple months ago, I pulled the Super Chips Gold chip out of my 2000 F550 with a 7.3 Powerstroke and had a Dr. Performance (http://www.drperformance.com/index.asp) module installed in the truck. It provides 90 additional horsepower and 180 extra foot pounds of torque. :D I am very happy with...

    2011

I sold my Landmark 2009 Augusta over a year ago. However, I still check back on this forum from time to time because there are so many helpful and friendly people here. I have even been considering the purchase of a larger RV again, maybe even a Landmark (I really like the Oakmont). My wife and...

SOLD - 2009 Landmark Augusta and our Ford F550

Calvin, We actually bought the Domani at the Dallas RV show. It was deeply discounted by the dealer and there was an additional factory discount which they applied to that specific trailer. When we decided to go smaller, we really wanted a Domani as we felt that it offered almost the same level...

SOLD - 2009 Landmark Augusta and our Ford F550

Hey everybody, Thanks for your interest in our truck and trailer. We have sold the trailer :) and we downsized and bought a Carriage Domani :D. We are keeping the truck for now (it tows the Domani quite easily). I want to thank all the moderators and Jim Belleti in particular for all the help...

SOLD - 2009 Landmark Augusta and our Ford F550

Well, the economy has forced us into a sad decision. We are selling our brand new 2009 Landmark Augusta and our Ford F550. The trailer is equipped with the slate interior color scheme. It has every available option except window awnings. It also has the big (3 1/2") drum brakes, goodyear...

    Ceiling Fan

We also do not feel much air movement under our ceiling fan. However, if you reverse the fan (winter setting) it will move the air up and then it hits the ceiling and spreads out and you can feel the air movement near the walls as the air moving across the ceiling hits the walls and drops down...

Leaving to pick up new Augusta

Congratulations!! Congratulations on the new Augusta. I am sure you will love it. We certainly do love ours. Being familiar with the Kelowna, Okanagan area, (we actually honeymooned in Vernon, BC), we are envious of your maiden trip. We are going to BC for a vacation to visit my wife's...

The Oakmont (rear Den with 5 slides)

We used to own a SOB fifth wheel which had a rear den. We liked the floorplan, although it had a small kitchen and a walk-through bath. We bought our Augusta partly because we love the huge kitchen and the enclosed bath. Does the Oakmont have an enclosed bath? To our knowledge, there are only...

    New 2900RK!

Congratulations on your new purchase. We spent a week in Pigeon Forge a couple years ago. We stayed at the Pigeon Forge KOA. It is a nice campground located right on the river. While there, we took a bus tour up into the Smokey Mountains...very beautiful country.

    Kitchen Cabinet not level

They have replaced the arm rippers with a nice set of latches. I had our dealer order a set and while I have the trailer in for some other minor issues, I am having them install the new closet latches.

    Honest opinons from current owners

We also shopped for several months and I did a lot of research and we ended up buying a Heartland Landmark. We looked at several brands which were much more expensive and some that were less. We ended up feeling that the 2009 Landmark was the best trailer for the money. If we had wanted to spend...

    Frame Rust

My Landmark also had some rust on both sides of the frame, rear electric jack mounts, and around the suspension mounts... although no heavy rust. I brushed it clean and sprayed on some black rubberized undercoating I purchased at Autozone. I check the frame every couple weeks for any additional...

    Landmark (Augusta) owners!!!!!

Locking the fridge doors is tops on my DW's list of things to do before we travel. What do you mean by the fridge not staying cold? We also have an Augusta with the double door fridge. We just spent a week on Mustang Island where a couple days were over 80 degrees. Our fridge rarely wavered...

    Diesel Prices

I have to fill up tomorrow as we are taking a week-long vacation at Mustang Island this coming week (a 420 mile pull). As I can hold 74 gallons of diesel, and with how fast prices are rising...I just hope the price of diesel does not go up WHILE I am filling up! Soon, you may only be able...

    Dual Pane windows

Being in Texas, we ordered the 2nd A/C. I don't care how well insulated your rig is...on a summer day in Texas, the 2nd A/C extends the life of the primary A/C as it (the primary) does not have to run as often or as long. We also ordered dual pane windows. This is the first trailer we have had...

    Heartland competition?

I love it that RV manufacturers are continually trying to innovate. Had they just rested on their laurels several years ago, we would not have many of the nicities we take for granted in our trailers. That's why I love going to the RV shows...just to see what is coming next. By the way, have you...

    Gps ?

I have the CindyHarvey Map Reader 2008 edition. She is always as current as the map in her lap, and can give instant traffic...

    Tinting Windows

We used to have an Aliner popup and it had the gold solar tinting. It really helped keep out the heat and you could not see inside the trailer during the day unless you went right up to the window.

    Slide Leak

It is a bit of a hassle, but I always climb onto the roof of the trailer and I sweep any debris/standing water off of the slideouts prior to DW retracting them. WFM :)

    Preparing for Travel _ Refrigerator

ct0128, I do not disagree with what you are saying about fuel vapors...but ask any gas station owner if he minds if you let your propane fridge run while you pump fuel and I bet he would not allow it. Their rule is "No Open Flame" while pumping fuel.

    Preparing for Travel _ Refrigerator

We can park our trailer at the house so we turn on the fridge a couple days before we leave and put everything in once it cools down. When we leave, we turn off the refrigerator. Steel Stems on the Bighorn

I replaced all my rubber stems on my last fifth wheel with steel because I had to use the spare tire one time and the rubber stem broke when I put 80 lbs pressure in the tire. The rubber stem had hardened and cracked while the tire hung under the trailer.

Fishing pole holders in Bighorn storage area

I went to Army and Navy and bought collapsable fishing poles. They extend to about 7 feet and collapse to about 15". We spent Easter weekend in this park. There was a BigHorn in the park...had a nice white '2L Trucks' custom "Jimmy" one ton. I did not get a chance to visit with the owner... they had two big German Shepherds tied up at the trailer most of the weekend.

    Small Closet to Small Pantry

When the DW and I ordered our 2009 Landmark Augusta, we specified the double door refrigerator, knowing we would lose the pantry.
