    How Necessary is a Weapon?

I assume you could proovide a source for that for that statistic. Every source I can find show that number to be way low.

    Do you need it?

I also reach for my shotgun, sort of. I travel with my Taurus Raging Judge. I get to choose, .410 round or .454. So many decisions. BTW I think you overestimate the penetration of a hollow point. A 10 mm perhaps, not the Casul.

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Well said. I love what Canada looks like but I cannot stand your gun control laws. I was held at the border for over 2 hours simply because I was honest and said I do own handguns and nave a CCW, though I said I was not carrying at that point

    No flowing water?????

Would definitely check your pressure regulator. Last trip I swapped FW hoses and did not put the pressure reducer/regulator on by mistake. I had water for a few seconds and then lost the water flow. I think this is a good area for you to look at

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Assuning one i close enoufh that all 4 discs and 16 pellets hit center mass og its intended target it will have a pretty large force of impact on a person. Put this center mass and I will think ut wull be a challenge for a gun to be drawn and fired. THis if course assumes one is close enough...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

I do not use my 9mm at all for a defensive load. It simply does not have the knockdown impact I desire. My 9 mm is simply the handgun I use for keeping my proficiency with weapons. It is a cheap load to shoot a couple hundred at the range. Even the gun I bought for my wife is a .40. If I have...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

So going after my Second Ammendment Rights is not enough? You wish to go for the First also? I do not understand why you wish to take away the rights of those who wish for nothing more than to keep their families and friends safe by carrying for defensive purposes only. If you deosre to not...

    How Necessary is a Weapon?

I agree with most posts in this forum. It is a personal choice on how one decided to defend himself and his family. I personally never go anyhere without one of my handguns. I maintain proficient and carry loads that are designed to be a one shot stop. I use the Winchester PDX-1 .410 loads in my...

Removing anode from hot water tank

If you hook a multimeter across it you will find the tape does not destroy the electrical connection at all. The threads cut the tape leaving plenty of contact.

The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

Agreed. My newest is the Raging Judge. It also shoots .454 casul loads. Now it is a bear gun also.

Removing anode from hot water tank

When I put my anode back in I completely wrap the thread with Teflon tape. This not only prevents leaks it prevent galling of threads and corrosion deposits on the threads. Give it a try. I use it on all threaded joints.

The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

Last I read The Governor .410 loads are 2 1/2 inch loads. I snake country I prefer the extra shot with the 3" loads I can use in The Judge. Both are versatile and pack a great punch at close range.

    Laser or no laser

I have to ask. What is the range you are planning to use your pistol at? If is more than 15 yards I question you need to use it at all. If you do need to use it and assuming you are in the dark, tell me what this bright coherent beam of red light looks like from its source. If you are pointing...

    My Personal Choice

Give me the Taurus Judge anytome. PDX-1 .410 shells are an incredible self-defense load. I load 3 of them with 2 .45 Long Cols (hydrashocks) just to make sure I can get my point across if needed.

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Sorry but the way I see it is this is no different than asking how many of the people who reply on this or any other thread have used their life insurance policy. My firearms are just that, a life insurance policy. I do not care whether or not I have had to use it. I care that it is there if I...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Novelty? I suggest you read about the Winchester PDX 1 .410 load. You can call it a novely. I will call it the ultimate in close quarters defensive load. I used to load with the Federal. I have boxes of them just laying around now. I now carry a mix of Federal .45 LC and 3 or 3 PDX 1. 3 if...

Buckshot: Overkill for the Home Defense Shotgun?

That is an excellent shell. Now that Winchester makes them in the 3" load I have bought mine. The 3" shell has 4 penetrating discs vice 3 and 16 coated pellets. It is even better than my 000 Buckshot. Now my Judge carries 20 discs and 80 pellets vice 16 and 64 in the S&W. The ultimate in carrying.

Buckshot: Overkill for the Home Defense Shotgun?

Yes unfortunately the S&W version shoots 2 1/2 inch .410 shells only. I like having the 3" cylinder on the Judge. The Fedral 3" .410 carry 5 000 buckshot pellets. That extra pellet is important to me.

Buckshot: Overkill for the Home Defense Shotgun?

Yup give me the scatter for home or trailer defense. Taurus Judge, 5 000 buck shot all in a neat little handgun package. Easier to maneuver with than a shotgun, so it is good in the truck also. Makes for a good snake gun in the hills too.

The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

Bear spray? Really? I would love to just what is the effective range of bear spray. OK maybe just the range because I cannot imagine this stuff being effective. A 600 pound and that is not a big one, bear coming on at full tilt and you plan to stop him with bear spray? No when I am in bear...

The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

Unfortunately The Governor only has the ability to load 2 1/2 in .410 shells. I prefer being able to have 5 000 buck pellets in mine. Having the extra round is cool, but if 5 is not enough it is better to run.

The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

I will stick with my Taurus Judge 3" magnum. When in the truck getting to the campsite it is loaded with 2 .410 buckshot loads (3") and 3 .45 long colt hydrashocks. When we are set up and inside I go with all 5 loads of .410. When hikinnng in snake country I carry it with 4 shot shells. Very...

    VuQube use in 2011 3250

Re: VuQube use in 2011 2011 3250 Can't say I have had any problems with the Vue Cube. I have been using it for 3 years and have yet to fail to get a signal. It is especially handy when I needd to elevate the dish due to blocking. I jist put it on top of the rig with no worry for the roof...

    Service Centers

I have had work done at Holiday Motorhome in Fife. This is where I got my Bighorn. They do just fine. The Service Manager is very easy to deal with. This would be my recommenddation. BTW it is very conveniently located, just about half mile off of I-5 North of the 99 exit in Fife.

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Do you really think a perp is going to be more likely to lurk waiting for those who discuss they have defensive weapons and carry? Personally I believe if the perp thinks you are protected he (or she) will be much more likely to find easier and less lethal prey. I have no qualms whatsoever...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

I carry the Hudge with me everywhere I go. I have the 3 inch barrel and keep it loaded with 2 000 buck shot 3 inch 5 pellet loads and 3 Hydroshock .45 Long Colts. It si a formidable close range self-defense weapon. Have fired uncounted rounds through it and have never had an issue.

    Personal Protection ammo

For the Taurus Judge I have 3 Federal Hydro Shock .45 Long Colts and 2 3" 5 pellet 000 buckshot. The .45 ACP, .40 .44 mag and 9mm all are loaded to the gills with Hydro shocks. I keep my house, truck and Bighorn well protected.

    Bighorn or Sundance?

Kristy I find your post so humorous. My wufe and I spent almost 2 years shooping around for our first camper. We looked at Class A's, Class C's and 5th wheels. After 2 tears we went to another local RV show and were in a 3670 for about 15 seconds when I told my wife to be very careful about...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

I would never buy a gun without trying it first. I have shot deveral hundred rounds through the Judge. Mostly .45 LC or Schofields, but plenty of .410 shells also. I emptied a full cylinder of buckshot into a full silhouette and about 15 feet. The Range Master was so shocked he asked if he...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

My point exactly. At close range inside the shell of a camper a high speed, deep penetrating, round will damage but perhaps pass right through an assailant. If only 3 of the 5 buckshot from the Judge hit their mark, reasonable at the distances we are talking about, it will knock the recipient...

    Bighorn vs Montana

You will hear many opinions of whether your 3/4 ton can pull a 14,000 lb trailer. There is mor eto the calculation than whether you can pull the weight. I am sure your truck can "pull" a lot more than that. My concern would be a) your pin weight rating and actual weight b) pulling is easy and...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

No I have never had to pull my weapons at a campground, but then again I have never had to make a claim on my life insurance policy either. Frankly they are both insurance policies I would just assume not use, but if and when the times comes they are comforting.

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

I have seen this load but I do not want that many pellets from a 2 inch barrel. THey will go all over the place. I do use 3 inch #4 shot for snake country. I stick with the 000 buck shot loads and .45 Long Colts by Federal. Hydro shocks. Better loads for distance. The .410 shells disperse within...

I have concealed carry permit, and always have at least my Taurus Judge with the 3" cylinder with me, except when on a federal installation.
