In all likelihood you are correct. The tow vehicle needs the negative side connected for ground.

Thanks hoefler. Yes, I learned that the hard way before learning here and from my wiring diagram in manual. The Heartland is new to us as we replaced our smaller travel trailer.

Cracking of decals happens in all travel trailers eventually. My decals on a 2011 are no cracked yet. The blue splashed are like it drained down below the decals but it is possible it may not be from decals. Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.

Diagram was on my receptacle cover too but I had already looked up camper and truck pins online. Identification of pin-outs was never a problem. They check out good with ignition on TV and battery in travel trailer. I no longer have a problem unless not charging on the road like someone else...

I pulled the 15 amp fuse to radio/CD player this afternoon. I am thinking I will just put a battery cut-off switch to turn off all 12 volt power; however, I will consider doing what you did since apparently my power off on CD is not working either.

I found that was true too with my 2005 Silverado pickup.

I have all the pin layout for pickup and camper. I have that and now have power on AUX when battery is in camper.

I just checked my wiring diagram and there is no solenoid in the circuit. I just pulled the fuse for radio/CD.

Thanks danemayer for your reply. I think you have answered my question. It is logical the accessory pin on truck connector goes through the positive battery cable. I had the positive lead dangling when expecting camper lights to come on from truck power.

Thanks for reply. I have 12 volt lights in camper when battery is in camper; however, the lights would not come on with connector in truck connector. I think another answered my question. He/she said they thought the camper 12 volts is connected though positive battery cable.
