    Battery smoking hot!

I have my trailer plugged into 110 constantly, even when parked next to the house. I'm in and out of the trailer almost daily. Yesterday I walked in to a terrible sulfer smell. I tracked it down to the battery which was bubbling over and smoking.. yikes! I unplugged the power and it cooled...

#1 Gray tank drain valve problem

Thanks for the advice! I was at my dealer's yesterday and he said the cable is a common problem. I'm gonna fix it this weekend hopefully. :)

    Awning has some damage...

Thanks for all your responses! I went to my dealer and he said he does have some parts so it looks like I'll be able to fix it. I will have to make some kind of new mount to refasten that top bracket though. I guess I have a project now.. :)

    Awning has some damage...

I went to work with my awning out about 4ft. While I was at work the wind kicked up and did some damage. The front top mount pulled out from the trailer and the holes are now stripped out. The sliding lever/pivot near the door is made of pot metal and snapped in half. The lower mount by the...

#1 Gray tank drain valve problem

I was draining my tanks yesterday and when I went to push in (close) the drain valve on my #1 it didn't engage or close the valve off. It now feels disconnected from the valve mechanism (free play). Has anyone else had this happen? I had to remove my sewer line because when left open the...

Fireplace - is there a better fan?

Yeah, mine gets hot too. The darn swing down door panel gets too hot to touch and I can't even open it to turn it off without using a pot holder or something.

Thanks so much for the explanation. I tried to look in my owners manual but it really didn't explain it.

    Control panel questions

This will probably sound a little dumb, but I have yet to figure a few things out with regards to my control panel switches. First off, why are there two thermostat controls? I've only needed to use the bottom one. Second, on the meter panel, there's a "heater" switch. What heater is it...

    Kitchen Cabinet not level

My 07 3670RL has the same problem. My kitchen cabinets are off by almost an inch and a half. I noticed it easily. My sliding door to the bathroom from the bedroom is also way off square. It measures 21-3/8 at the bottom of the jam and 22-3/8 at the top. I would never do work like that so it...

    Honest opinons from current owners

If you want a product that comes with stellar customer service, then Heartland is your company. If I were to ever buy another Bighorn, it would be because of the nice people I've dealt with. I have had issues with my trailer but they fixed it. I've heard that no matter what company you buy...

Just when I thought a Bighorn was it...

I have an 07 3670. I will say that the customer service is outstanding. I had some major problems with slides leaking and some other minor issues and it was all taken care of without a hitch. To be fair, I am a perfectionist. I notice things that most wouldn't. As I sat in my recliner...

    Mattress Platform

Thank you Gary! I may do something like that to mine. It's pretty tight with the king mattress on there. Bill

    Mattress Platform

I was just curious if everyone else has the same type of mattress platform? I own an 07 3670RL and I was surprised to find just a plank of unfinished particle board under there. No framing or anything. Is that normal?

    Installing Hitch

I got the RBW 16K because I thought it was a good deal. I don't like it. It's beefy and failsafe but it's a pita to get the thing to open and close. It's too touchy. You have to find the sweet spot every time or you won't be able to hook it or unhook it without fighting with release lever...

    Bighorn's pre wired for solar?

Solar panels? I'm considering hooking up an Acme Nuclear Reactor kit. Should be enough power to last the life of the rv.. and then some. Lol! I'm kidding of course, but wouldn't THAT be cool!?

    Diesel MPG decreasing..

My Duramax is currently averaging 10mpg towing and 16mpg solo. This was on my trip up to Oregon from Cali towing and then back to Cali solo. I may look into getting a programmer so I can change things up for power or mpg. Not sure yet though.

Just wondering what I'm in for?

Thanks all! I am finding Heartland to be extremely easy to deal with. This is very reassuring and it makes this whole ordeal much easier to handle. The whole cabinet door thing taught me a huge lesson. I know I'll be checking in, on, and around every slide before I even LOOK at that slider...

    New Kid on the Block

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! I am definitely going to try and make some of these rallies. Sounds like a blast! Redding would be fun and it's not too far south. ... and to address mrcomer's question, my 2500HD had no problems at all except in tow mode the darn thing shifted all...

Just wondering what I'm in for?

Greetings guys. I'll try to make this as short as possible. I'm really bummed out. I just brought home a 2007 3670RL. I bought it in California and drove it up here to Oregon to live in full time. The drive was horrendous as it rained and snowed almost the entire way (about 1,000 miles)...

    Underneath Slide Leaking

Wouldn't replace the carpet? That really sucks. So now what? You get to smell moldy carpet and flooring for the rest of your ownership? This worries me even more. I have the 3670RL that I purchased in California and drove up to Oregon in rain and snow the whole way. When I got my brand new...

Heartland Recreational Vehicles – Warranty/service Procedures

I found this forum because I was searching out this information. My nightmare is just beginning. I took pictures of course. Long story short... I just purchased an 07 3670RL and towed it up to Oregon. Rain water leaked up into the main living room slide and ruined my carpet. I was opening...
