    FS: 2015 Big Country 3050, 2009 F250

After only taking it out 4 times in 6 years, we've decided to sell our trailer and truck. 2015 Big Country 3050TS. Pre-wired for generator, dual AC, residential fridge, fireplace, king bed, plumbed for W/D, 4 season rated. Oven has never been used. Interior is in like new condition 2009 Ford...

2015 Big Country - bad shocks?

Thank you! They were great with the purchase, but this is the first time we've taken it in for service beyond the 30 day follow-up for warranty items. I'll definitely check into these other options. Jon

2015 Big Country - bad shocks?

I appreciate everyone's input. When we get the trailer back, I'll take a look at the shocks and either pull them or replace them. If the mounting looks incorrect, I'll like just pull them as I don't have the skill to fix something like this. Thanks, Jon

2015 Big Country - bad shocks?

Thanks for the info Marc, I really appreciate it. The dealer is Seegrins in Gilroy, CA. I’ll update when I get the trailer back to let people know what I find. Still interested in people’s opinions on whether the shocks are needed with the E-Z Flex jon

2015 Big Country - bad shocks?

Thanks. They didn't say, just quoted the labor charge. I do have Level Up installed and could probably do the work myself if it's really needed. Personally, I think they're trying to make some extra here. They also said the roof needed to be re-sealed around the vents and at the front and back...

2015 Big Country - bad shocks?

Hi all - I searched and didn't see current info, although it sounds like they aren't needed for many people. Our 2015 Big Country 3450TS has, at least according to the brochure, the E-Z flex suspension from Dexter. The trailer has less than 1500 miles total and has been in storage for the past...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Well, so much for waiting until we had our Hawaii trip. We've now adopted 2 rescue labs, Daisy a 6 yr old black lab and Rosie, a 8 yr old chocolate. We'll still be going to HI, but these two have brought the love and activity we were missing. I think Luke and Clay helped lead us to them, and I...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Someone said something that made things a little easier to accept. "we only have them part of our lives, but they have us for all of theirs." I liked the idea that they had a loving home for all of their lives. Jon

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Thanks Jeff. You're right - we never look to replace, we just welcome a new addition and enjoy them for what the are and give us. Jon

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Thanks Don. They were litter mates and always together, even at the end. We'll get another one one of these days. We spent the last 12 years doing everthing around the four legged kids - it's the reason we bought a trailer - so they could travel with us. So we have a trip to Hawaii that we're...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Thanks for the info. Sadly, we've lost both of our boys on 12/29. They went downhill very quickly. We haven't been able to bear the thought of even taking the trailer back out since then, it just seems so empty without them. RIP Clay and Luke, we'll see you again someday.

    New Big Country owners

We're looking forward to meeting others, it seems like a great group. I have a feeling there will be a new truck in my future in the next couple of years. Jon

Hi Sally & Dan! We're down in San Martin regularly to stop at Roccas market. Will you be at the Jackson rally? Jon

I have lots of questions, and apprehension!

Others have answered better than I could with our so far limited experience, but the residential fridge works fine for traveling, although I wouldn't want to be dry camping without a generator, that's not the type of camping we enjoy. We had a Hitchhiker with our old trailer. I bought a...

    New Big Country owners

Hi - We're very happy with the unit. My wife would probably say the storage is her favorite feature. It's right up at the top for me as well, but I'd say the leveling system and seating (we have the theater seats) would be mine. Least favorite is tough. So far I haven't really found anything to...

    Yet another question about hitches

Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone. We now have a TrailerSaver BD-3 that I think we're going to be very happy with. Of course the existing rails didn't work in spite of Hensley and the dealer saying they would prior to purchase, but I'm actually happier that everything was replaced and...

    Slide fully extending?

We just got our 2015 3450. When the kitchen slide is out, I don't see any white on the inside. Jon

    Yet another question about hitches

Thanks. I take the trailer in tomorrow morning for a few warranty things that came up on the first trip, I'm going to try and talk them down a bit more in price, or throw in installation (which I assume will be easy since I have rails already installed that are supposed to be standard). Jon

    Yet another question about hitches

When I think I have it all decided, something comes up. Went to look at hitches today and the dealer has a Hensley BD3 with SimpleSlide in stock at $2949. More expensive than I want to spend, but I'm willing to do it if this is the best option for me. Is this a good price, worth the cost? Thanks...

    Yet another question about hitches

Thanks Don. Would you suggest the 18K version? I can't imagine we'd ever get a larger/heavier trailer, but then again I didn't think we'd ever get one this nice either. Jon

    Yet another question about hitches

Hi - We have had a Hijacker 24PA for the 7 years we've been using a 5th wheel. Originally it was towing a light weight Chaparral but we've moved up to a Big Country 3450TS. The jaws are hard to release and I'm concerned that being out in weather for this long has degraded the hitch. Combined...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Thanks to everyone for the input. We just ordered a new ramp: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006OALW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 This one has a rubber surface that should be more comfortable and no sharp points. Over the weekend one of our boys fell off the current...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Thanks Dave & Amy. This is what we're using now. It's not bad, they don't like the feeling on their feet (delicate babies that they are), and one fell off while I was helping the other. I think we may end up trying to put something like astro turf over it to make it more comfortable. Jon - - -...

    Suggestions for pet ramps?

Hi all - We travel with our 2 kids (11 year old labs) that both have hip problems and can't use the steps to get in or out of the TV or trailer (Big Country 3450TS). We have a extendable ramp for them now, but it's really hard on their feet, and this morning Luke fell off the ramp trying to go...

    New Big Country owners

Hello everyone - Kathy and I take delivery of our new Big Country 3450TS on Wed. This is a huge upgrade for us from a 2008 Coachmen Chaparral Lite and we're excited to make use of the trailer much more often. We're in Morgan Hill, just a bit south of San Jose, and most of our travels will be in...
