Lucky enough to find a Jack Handle on US 17 and what it did to the front lower portion of our Big Country.

Wow! Nice job, I should do that to mine just for rock damage, always thought it would been nice to have the extra protection from the factory.

    Black tank flush issue

I think I would open the area and look at the plumbing. The others are correct that the system "should" be a closed system but you are sure you have the correct connection in the bay. So either this was a coincidence of the valve popping or something is not plumbed correctly which would be...

    New Oregon Big Country Owner

Hello Razduck, Good to see more Oregon members, we are from Monmouth and look forward to meeting you at one of the rally's. I agree with the airbags I pull a 3055RL and used to have a 2500HD gas rig. The airbags were great and allowed me to set the height for a perfectly level trailer and a...

GMC 2011 Urea Tank Problems -- They do exist!

I had the same problem but in my case the dealer did forget to top off the tank during the prep. I will remember all these comments though and keep an eye on mine, lucky I don't live in the really cold areas.

Does this look right to you??

This does look like allot of rust and more than I have in three years of use, I hope Lippert will take care of you. I would also ask the dealer about the underbelly attachment, mine is tight front to back ane from the oicture your looks to have big gaps already.

cabinets cracking and seperating at the glue joints

I am also no expert just a home hobbies but I also had about 6 or 7 of my raised panel doors split last year. I have not had any problems with drawer faces splitting. The first winter I just has swelled doors where they would not shut unless closed together, then the next year I had all the...

    question about hitch weights

One thing to remember is the advertised pin weight is with the unit empty, my 3055 Bighorn pin weight is 3100 lbs and I think the advertised weight was less than 2000 lbs.. and I do not have much extra gear loaded. The other thing is I'm not sure where you are traveling and maybe some big rig...

    Repairing Blinds

Hi All, Has anyone had any luck re-stringing the double blinds? I have an 09 3055RL and one of the small blind strings broke in the front of the main slide. I looked while on the trip and cannot even figure out how the valance is attached or if the blind head will come out some how. I saw a...

    Electric Awnings

Had mine for over two years and it works great, no problems. The only thing I miss is being able to drop the manual one down against the side of the trailer for cleaning. I need to get a better broom to sweep off the needles and leaves. I do like the just pushing a button, getting lazy as I get...

    Towing a 2011 Bighorn 3055

I would say the 3/4 tons will pull the 3055 and I did for a few years with an 01 Chev 2500HD. You need to be careful though as loaded my pin weight is 3100lbs which was over the rating for the truck. I just bought a 3500 dually and have plenty of room now but really the old truck pulled well but...

Should my Jensen TV work when i am Dry Camping or is it 120v?

My '09 bighorn has one of each, the main TV is 120v only but the bedroom TV is 12v with an adaptor as mentioned above. The problem is at least in mine Heartland did not wire a 12 volt plug so I am stuck. I need to change out the plate with the antenna booster for one with a 12 volt plug which...

    2011 Chevy bed height

Hi, I just purchased a '11 GMC 3500HD Dually and was worried about the fit also. I have not towed yet but hooked it up on the pad last week and will be towing this weekend. I had a '01 Chevy 2500 HD before and I had to raise the hitch 1 inch which puts me 3/8 of an inch lower than the old setup...

Will 15amp sevice run 13.5 btu ac/or heat pump?

I have not tried with my bighorn but with my old towable with a 13.5 A/C I ran it in many parks with only 15 amp. This is pushing the limit but as long as I did not try to run the microwave I was fine and did not damage the A/C unbit or ever trip a breaker.

GMC Integrated Brake Controller Adjustment Settings

Nice to be back on the forum, I am picking up a 2011 GMC 3500 DRW tomorrow and kind of sad to give up the Prodigy which was great but I hate to add holes to the new truck witha integrated controller already there. I have an '09 3055RL and from this I think I'll start my tests at level 5. Thanks

    2011 Chevy question

I hope the positive answers hold out here, I pick up my 2011 GMC 3500 Dually tomorrow and have been concerned since I am moving from a 2001 2500 and I see the bed is just about 2" higher. Looking at the spring setup it looks like it will settle a bit right off to hit the main spring set and I...

    3/4 Ton Truck Owners Survey

I have until tomorrow a '01 Chevy 2500HD with the 8.1L, I added airbags and the truck pulled very well. I have the 3055RL and the truck topped 10K on the scales with a 9.2K rating. The gas milage was also poor at 6 in the hills and 8 the best I got on flat interstate. I think it was the milage...

    Spray in bed liner

I am picking up a new truck tomorrow and plan to have a spay in bed liner put in. My original thought was to have the hitch rails mounted first and then spray around them to keep a metal to metal contact. I have read the reese hitch instructions and done some on line research and it appears that...

    Cabinet door failures

Thanks that is good advice. I don't think I'll take this apart but just glue, clamd and staple. The other doors are more an annoyance and I can live with them. It is funny I had my cheap lightweight trailer for ten years and never had this happen. I think the fact that this is the door with the...

    Cabinet door failures

Thanks for the advice. I agree it looks like no glue in the joint and just two small brads were holding it together. Don't know of a good way to get the other sides apart or I would open it up and shave the sides down. It has been in the house dry and heated but is drying out slow. I did have...

    Cabinet door failures

Hello All, Has anyone else had their cabinet doors fail during storage. I had the BH covered from Nov through Feb this year and our winter in Oregon was not bad at all. 3010 Electrical problem - trailer lights

I also agree witrh checking the ground wires at the junction box. I recently had a misshap where my trailer lead hooked on the ball hitch while disconnecting the 5'r. When rewiring I found I believe three ground leads going to the trailer and my guess is one of these has lost it's connection...

Seems pretty strange to me with a TT all that stuff would fit in the truck. Wonder what the strain is on the frame with the extra leveage.

Motor appears loose on front jacks? Sundance

I have the same model trailer as Debbie and did have my gearbox break I also believe from running the gear all the way up. A 1/4 inch is not much but if it is visibly more than before you could have cracked the housing and it will only get worse. Mine was moving more than an inch when I noticed...

    Quality sound

If it really is only 18 watts per speaker then the power output is indeed wimpy. I would look into a replacement with more power and then see if the speaker need changing also. Did you happen to see what the current ones are rated at?

    Electric Awning

I was told when we bought ours last year that the awning could move and if needed one side will dip down to drain. I believe the guy at the dealer showed us this by pulling down on one end. Have never tested it yet in heavy rain but no problems with the rain we have been through.
