So this is what most of my bushings looked like after 45,000 KM. Some rough roads too including the Dempster. I actually think they did reasonably well considering it’s a piece of nylon. I have the wet bolts all installed now with bronze bushings. We will see how they perform compared to the nylon.
Thanks. I was thinking the same about the air equalizer. I watched some videos and the setup actually looks a little mushy. I’m gonna keep it simple and put wet bolts in, keep the same EZ-Flex equalizer.
Well, I grabbed a set of Dexter wetbolts, bronze bushings and heavy shackles. I guess we will see what happens. I’m usually under my trailer every stop having a look.
anyone use the Center Point bags or Morryde CRE4000 equalizers? Wondering if they are worth the swap. I currently have the...
I have 45,000 KM on my trailer and I am going to replace the suspension bushings. What do you all recommend? The factory bushings lasted this long do I just go with them again or do I go wet bolts (do they break as often as I am reading), Never Fail? Anyone use Center Point air bags?
Im not...
I would still be able to get 4 bolts on each side. The only difference would be I wouldn’t be using the top hole at the front of the pinbox. That bolt would be in the second hole down.
I have an auto slide so it doesn’t have any adjustment. Do the bolts have to be in the very top holes on the pinbox? I have room to get the pinbox up one more hole but I wouldn’t be able to use the top hole on the pinbox.
Do I have enough room to adjust my pinbox up (lower the nose)? The dealer said it was too hard to move it up any more so they left it but we are still very nose high. Does the bolt have to be at the very top hole on the pinbox or can I raise the pinbox and use a lower hole (second hole down)?
Thanks everyone. So many decisions! I'm contemplating just buying a couple 100ah lithium batteries now and just hold off on the inverter until the wallet recovers a bit.
I have watched your video Oregon. Several times actually. I just can't afford that setup at this point in my life but...
I am getting a couple 220 amp 6volt batteries. They have 4 in stock. Is it worth it to grab all 4 and run them? I both boondock and camp in full services. When we boom dock I have to run my generator twice a day. I would like to get a couple days. Current batteries are 2 - 80 amp 12 volt...
I have watched your video a few times. I may reconsider my Matrix.
Until I have further questions :)
Thank you
Other than the TS in the IC2000, I did not install separate TS. I do not have an on-board generators, so there is no need for 3rd TS. I also decided against any sub-panels...
Thanks!!! What I may do is run a sub panel for the fridge alone and the factory inverter. Then I can use the Matrix to run other plugs for me.
I am working toward a battery bank of lithiums - but I am also realistic in that they are still very cost prohibitive. Work in progress.
EDIT - and...
Good day folks. Been a while since I have been here. We spent a ton of time on the road last fall. Drove from southern Alberta up through British Columbia, the Yukon and NWT. We went as far as Tuk. Amazing time.
But to business. I purchased an Matrix Infinity 2200 watt inverter and I am...
This is probably gonna sound like the dumbest question ever but ... here goes anyway.
Os is the Curt E16 (16k capacity) enough capacity for a gross wr of 15,500. I’m only wondering if there is a percentage calculation to give a “safety margin” or if that is built into the hitch specs.
I have...
I completely agree. I have completely redone the entire dump plumbing for all 3 tanks and just finished redoing the 12v electrical. I am currently fixing a crack in the side of my trailer caused by a screw installed during manufacture. Every time I open a door or look behind the scenes of the...
Firestone Ride Rite with on board compressor and cab control. I pump them up when the road has those annoying dips and deflate them when the road is choppy.
Very nice! I changed mine up a bit and still have to put the cutoff switch in. I was going to upgrade to those breakers but maybe next spring. What a difference it made on how my hydraulics and slides work. Thanks for the pic.
Just an update if anyone is interested.
I re-did all of my 12 volt electrical including moving the converter into the front compartment with the other 12 volt stuff. Tonight is the first night we operated the slides and hydraulics.
The difference is unbelievable. The slides and hydraulic...
Sorry to hear your disappointment. I unfortunately have had a similar experience as you. The quality is questionable at best and after care non-existent. Hopefully you get everything worked out.
Some backup cameras are activated by the reverse light circuit being turned on so they only come on when backing up. This may be how the trailer was wired - or not - but I would give it a try.
I think the consensus is some have a breaker and some don't (mine has a 50 amp from factory). I am putting the breaker in because if there is a short somewhere between the batteries and the breakaway switch I would rather have something stop the fire or at least prevent severe damage to the...
Re: Inverter Consensus of Opinions
Do you get a long beep when the inverter shuts down? Ours was doing something similar to yours and it was caused by one of the batteries being weak. Replaced the battery and it worked again. Even if your batteries are showing 12 volts that may decrease...
Wow lots of questions this weekend!
What size circuit breaker are you using on your breakaway switches?
I have tandem 7000lb Dexter axles with 12" x 2" brakes. According to the etrailer website 4 sets of 12" brakes will take approximately 15 amps. I am thinking the max circuit breaker size...
Switch ordered and converter positive moved to battery so new cutoff doesn't effect charging.
For battery monitoring what is the preferred method of measuring current? Shunt or Hall sensor?
EDIT - And one thing I noticed is the breakaway switch shouldn't have the capability of being switched...
You aren't derailing at all. That is why I am asking for input. I have the battery cover but left it off for the pic because it is tall and covers up the wiring on the wall behind the batteries. Thanks.
The wire to the fuse box is still running through a 50a circuit breaker. The top breaker goes to the fuse box. The middle breaker is for the hydraulic pump. I think the bottom is for the breakaway switch.

The main battery cables are 2 gauge. The others are all 6 gauge...
I just finished my 12 volt wiring. I didn't run the converter through a circuit breaker on the 12 volt positive side. I know it ran backwards through the circuit breaker when it was mounted behind the basement wall but I don't think the circuit breaker really does anything since there are 40...
