What did you do to your camper today?

I lowered the hitch to bottom level in my truck. The bolts have one more spot on the trailer, but it will rub electronics (in turns) if it sits only couple inches further in the bed. I definitely feel much better about the balance now. New pic below: Thanks!

I will look into that... Thanks! This is as low as I can get the front of the trailer. It's way better now. New pic:

What did you do to your camper today?

Yep... too high. This was the first time the trailer was hooked to the brand new RAM 3500 4x4, and I took pictures and measurements. I will drop the hitch a couple levels prior to the next connection.

What did you do to your camper today?

Well, all the talk on this blog educated me about GVWR. I learned that the ONLY thing that matters for pin weight is the "yellow sticker" on your door frame. Therefore, out with the old (2011 Ford F250 4x4 Diesel SRW at 2,160 lbs load ) and in with the new (2016 Dodge 3500 4x4 Diesel DRW at...

What did you do to your camper today?

Update: I decided NOT to do the Extend-A-Shower, because it sticks out into the bathroom too far while a second person may be trying to use the vanity. I placed the shower bar above the shower component to provide appropriate length for the curtain. I will put magnets facing each other on the...

What did you do to your camper today?

We have now owned our 2013 Heartland 3010RE for about 6 weeks and the last 4 weeks were out on the road. I have done so many modifications to our 5er, the list would eat up this blog. After a month of HATING the 3 glass-panel shower doors, I removed the entire frame and glass. The water...

    50A Shore power at home

Just installed 4-wire #6 (underground in conduit) to a 50A dedicated breaker (box) this week with less than a 30 foot run from a 100A. Running both AC units while loading 5er is a MUST in Phoenix!

That anti-gooseneck policy is probably older than the invention of the Anderson Ultimate Hitch, and I believe that Heartland and Lipert are in bed together. If I had a brand new trailer, I wouldn't violate the policy... BUT, when the dealership I bought my 2013 BH from sells and installs the...
