    iRV34 Radio Problem

I have a new Sundance. Problems with radio. How do I turn on the backlighting for the clock on when the clock/radio is turned off? I should be able to see the time even though the radio isn't going. The manual advice to reset the radio settings by pressing and holding the power button for 5...

My electrical problem involving a GFCI

I had that issue on a previous trailer. Spent too much time looking for a short to ground and never found one. I read on an other post an RV technician said to replace the hot water tank anode. Did not make sense to me but as a last resort did replace it[It was 50% corroded]. My problem was...

    Anybody from Ottawa area

Hello We live in Cobourg. Does that count as close to Ottawa? We just signed up for the rally so I guess we know there should be at least three rigs. We have never been to a rally before. Who knows what we are getting into. We leave for a habitat build in Hartwell ga on thr.or friday and then...

Cold Weather Operation of Fresh Water Drain

I have a Sundance MK2900 but I think the setup is about the same. I would let it freeze. In a worse case senario that piece of pipe would crack and you would have dripping to the outside and then you could fix it then but I really do not think it will be an issue. I would be more concerned about...

Torn Slide Seals & Rusted Underbody Metal

I have a 2009 2900mk that shows the same rust issues as cdnrver and it has not seen salt. It was taken to Alaska and back in the summer. We were camped on the ocean for seven days. I must say I was very disappointed to see all the rust on something new and supposably powder coated. I have never...

Brakes on a Big Country jamming on

I had a somewhat similar brake problem while visiting P.E.I a few years ago. Some days the brakes worked fine and then they would instantly lockup once or twice and be fine again. After many wasted hours taking things apart I somehow accidentally figured out that i had one broken conductor in the...

    Electrical power question

I think you have tripped a breaker on your land power and that would explain both the lack of 120 volt and 12 volt when you do not have the battery in place. I think your problem sounds to be in the wiring of the disconnect switch.I would wire it with one leg attached to the negative battery...

    Fuses Blowing-Need Heat Tonight

You indicate the fridge and furnace are on the same fuse. Shut the fridge off and try again. If the furnace stays going you know the circuit is possibly overloaded or the furnace or fridge are drawing too much. If one is drawing too much current it will not be long before they will not start...

Mounting spare tire on rear bumper

I have a 2900 mk. From experience on a previous trailer with the same thickness bumper ABSOLUTELY nobody should mount a bike rack on a bumper that has not been reinforced. It is not the weight that gets you but the bouncing and twisting going down the road that causes metal fatigue and then failure.

Need Help on 16" tire swap!

Yes the spare from your 06 Duramax will fit the trailer. I have done that.as for mounting the spare on the bumper i think it could be done if you custom made a mount that kept the spare almost touching the trailer to avoid leverage and hence extra twisting on the bumper. Bicycle racks should...

    Sheared landing gear pins

I agree with the above posts, but another possiblity could be that the pins were only inserted halfway through . If that was the case there would be twice the normal shear load on the pins and hence the failure.

    Docking Station Drain

drain I have an 2900mk and installed a drain in the UDC. Drilled a hole through the floor in a corner that would allow a piece of 3/8 copper pipe to be jammed in. I then drilled a much larger hole over the previous hole to a depth of say 1/4 inch. The purpose of this hole was to act as a funnel...

    Converter - doing its job??

I do know with my 2900mk you do not need a battery installed to operate anything in the trailer as long as you are connected to shore power. I would think that would be the same in any trailer. Assuming you were connected to shore power and your slide would not go in i would think it would be an...

    Help landing gear stopped working

If you raise the landing gear till they stop or make noises you will blow the fuse every time. You have to figure out how high they should go and put a mark on the legs to tell you to stop raising them. Things are not made as tough as the old days:)

    Sundance With Shock Absorbers

I have never experienced a place that would sub an 2010 product for an 09 and not charge extra!!! Think car dealers here. I have an 09 2900mk with shocks and installed the equiflex system myself. The shocks are a waste of money. The angle they have to be mounted at to clear everything makes...

    On-going tire issue

Tires I have Chinese Mission tires with 18000 miles and one problem with a sharp piece of shale puncturing one tire. I have had bad problems with carlise tires on a previous trailer and am very sensitive to tire issues and safety. I purchased the pressure pro tire monitoring system and am very...

    Electric rear jacks

I have been having trouble with the electric rear jacks on my 09/2900mk. I am pretty sure it is a switch issue especially since it gets soaked from wheel spray. I took a look at the manual raising screw and realized that the 2 wrenches supplied with the trailer would not work. Am I missing a...

Kitchen gray tank valve is stuck

You do not say weather there is any movement in the cable. If it will move slightly i would think there is something stuck in the slide valve located on the tank. I would try sending a sewer snake through the pipe hoping that might dislodge the blockage. If it does the question is when is that...

    Fresh water tank operation

Brian It seems odd to me that that you say you closed the fresh water drain valve underneath. If your water tank is full there should have been water coming out or signs that the water already ran out and the tank is empty. If that valve was closed and you turned it and the tank had water in it...

    Mission tires

I have 15000miles on my 16 inch mission tires [Alaska and back] no issues. I did have 4 blowouts with new carlise tires on my previous trailer. I strongly reccommend the use of a pressure monitoring system. The system went off once and the tire still had 72 pounds of air but we could here the...

    Mounting TV in Sundance

    Mounting TV in Sundance

sundance tv mount We have a 2900mk and I mounted a 27 inch flat screen to the wall you talk about. Big Country - Docking Center - Water Filter

Hello I have an 09 2900mk Sundance and added the water filter behind the control panel and before the water pump in the concealed area.I first made the whole concealed side panel come on and off easily instead of using the tiny access panel. It also makes working on the water pump easier. You...

    Sofa/Airbed Drawer

airbed/sofa drawer slides We have not been able to progress to the drawer opening all the time yet. When we received our 09 Sundance the right slide was broken and replaced. We then left for a 3 month trip and were never able to open the drawer. It seems that the left slide is jammed...

    Surge Guard Power Protection

Flying Dutchman It would be easy to mount it in the closet. You would just drill 2 holes straight down for the in and out wires. Yes it is important to see the display[some do not have a display] I purchased a remote display with mine and mounted it between the step and convertor about one...

    Surge Guard Power Protection

We have an 09 2900mk sundance and i installed a hardwired progressive industries surge protector. We went on 3 month trip and it got used many times due to over and under voltages and reverse polarities. I installed it on the wall behind the converter but in the storage compartment. [sort of...

    Bike rack?

bike rack We have an 09 sundance and some bike rack experience[some bad but nobody hurt except my pride and wallet] There is a lot of bouncing and jarring at the back of the unit. Nobody makes a bumper strong enough to just bolt on a bike rack. With the bouncing the metal can fatigue crack and...

    Pressure Pro to the Rescue!!

We also have the pressure pro and it alerted us to a stone puncture on the Dempster highway in the Yukon. When we stopped you would not know which tire had a problem by looking. The hissing and location on the monitor told us. Since we were alerted when the pressure dropped to 72 psi and we...

    What is this widget?

Good morning! While we were opening up the airbed on our 2009 Sundance, we came across a plastic "Widget" which is approx 12"X4.5" in the shape of a "C" and having a 1/4 cm slit through most of it. It is dark grey in colour. It doesn't look like I can post an image because I am a new user...

Do any other Sundance owners feel like they have a POS?

We purchased a new 09 2900mk in June and immediately left for a 3 month trip to Alaska. We liked this trailer much better than the Rockwood we had previously but it was a good trailer. We travelled 12000 miles , yes on the original 16 inch Mission tires,no problems.I was sceptical because we had...
