    Diesel Additives

I have always used a fuel supplement since day one. I personally don't notice a better idle or increased MPG -or maybe just a very slight increase.............but I use it for lubricity. The FCU on my truck has a final output pressure of about 25000 PSI and anything that we use to make the...

POLL: To Slide, or Not to Slide...

I've only been pulling my Sundance for about 4 months...but I'm impressed with their front cap. I've done U-turns in parking lots and even with the wheel to the stop, I still have about 1 foot of clearance to go before I'll "kiss the cab". Now backing up is a different story, but I have had it...

    Minimum recommended tools for fulltimer?

For all of us diesel guys..........I never leave home without a spare fuel filter and strap wrench to remove it. I've never had a batch of bad fuel yet, but it seems to happen to some people too often, and then your day just turns to "bad" while parked on the side of the road. Duct tape...oh...

Factory Brake controller on GMC 2500HD

newbie...... You have been receiving some great info from several posters, but just to clarify.....everyone (including me) is giving you advice on what setting to use. As you can see, everyone has a number that seems to work for them. There are many factors that could contribute to these wide...

    Items you can't live without

I would like to recommend a 'upgraded' water pressure regulator. I spend about $40 on an adjustable higher flow model, and the showers are almost "like home" now!

    Over the stove light

I too felt that our stove light was way too dim. I went to our local auto parts store, and just got a new clear bulb. The light is now about 3 times as bright!!:)

    water pressure

I undid my shower fitting, and my restrictor popped right out using my thumbnail. If you put a toothpick thru the small small, it is very easy to remove it, and now my shower flow is now much better. Last month I also purchased a Shurflo Extreme 5.7 water pump. Wow.....the increase in water...

    Brake Control

I completely agree with the others that have told you to do a complete reset and be very familiar with the set up procedure. My first brake controller was a Tekonsha Voyager, which was very 'herky jerky'. I found that I had to make adjustments to it on a daily basis to make the rig brake...

    Preventive Maintenance (leaks)

Here is one that I found to be loose on my rig. Check every sink drain (there is a large nut that can be tightened by using your fingers). When I got mine home I noticed water 'weeping' from under my bathroom sink. I tightened it, and then checked my kitchen sink drains, and they were both loose...

Excessive Noise and jerking with 5th Wheel Hitch

I just thought that I'd let you fellows know that not all hitches are created equal! I bought a Reese 15K Pro Series. I'm not sure why it is called the "Pro Series" because it is entry level in cost and design. I have about 3/16" of play between the kingpin and the locking mechanism. Every time...

    Sundance Suggestions - kitchen range

Same items on the 2800RLS. My better half won't light the oven pilot as she says that it is too difficult. The ignitor on the range would have been nice as well!

    Winterizing the water system

Well, I put her away for the seaon. It was fairly easy to winterize the water system. First I blew out the lines, and then put 2 gallons of antifreeze into the empty hot and cold lines. It didn't take more than 1/2 an hour to do it. I sure got alot of crap out of the hot water tank when I...

    What size is too big?

I've got a 2800RLS and I'm glad that I didn't buy any bigger! Many of the State campgrounds I visit in the Pacific Northwest were built 40-50 years ago when eveyone had 18 foot trailers. I've had a tough time getting into some spots, and many of them I can't go into at all now (Deception...

    2008 F350 6.4l

Like others have said........be very careful about adding a tuner if you want to have any warranty work done. Once the diesel is fully broken in (which is usually around 10k but has taken as much as 25k on some trucks) your fuel mileage should go up a little.

Factory Brake controller on GMC 2500HD

I run my IBC at 7-8. This is pulling a 9500 lb Sundance with my 07.5 Chev 2500 HD. I wouldn't worry too much about the initial setting as it is very easy to adjust while on the fly. If the brakes grab too much, just back it off a number or two. If you can't feel the trailer brakes at all, bump...

    Tranmission temperature while towing

I learned this from a guy over at "The Diesel Place" forum...... I good rule of thumb is tranny temps will usually stabilize at about 100 F over ambient temps when towing. (this is ballpark only, but it does help).

    Importing from USA

My experience was very similar, and for anyone thinking about doing it, just go for it! The border was very easy and fast, (no need to go to US Customs first...this is for motorized vehicles ONLY). After RIV sends you back your form 2, we went to a local RV inspection facility (which is on the...

    BC Chapter fall Rally

Hi to all...... My wife and I were there about 1 1/2 weeks ago and there was a "boil water advisory" at Coldspring campground (at this campground ONLY). This is no problem if you go to the RV station near the Logde and fill up there first......water is good at this RV dump/fill station. The...

    Winterizing the water system

Smokeybare, Thanks. I think that is what I'll do. It just seems strange that very cheap travel trailers allow you to drain you fresh water lines completely...and then winterize. Our trailers can't drain their lines- so I guess that is what I'll do. I have the by-pass line, which I will...

    Winterizing the water system

sJv Thanks for the reply. My 2007 2800RLS only has one drain under the RV, and that is for the fresh water tank drain. Strange thing is my water tank is up near the front, but my water drain is near the back. The only way that I can figure some of this out appears to be that I'll have to peal...

    Winterizing the water system

I would love to, but I just received my Sept. schedule, and I won't have the time off. Sorry.........but being in London or Beijing isn't so bad either! (airline pilot) I was just in Manning and did some hiking. Did the Skyline 1 Trail. Very nice, and I was only sore for about two days after...

    vent

I learned a valuable lesson. I too never latched mine until the end of the season, but I noticed that I lost my flapper on my last trip. I still have to replace it, and my local parts place only sells the complete unit, even tho I only need the flap.:( From now on I'll latch mine before heading...

    Winterizing the water system

I know that it's a little early to be thinking about putting the rig away for the season, but I thought that I'd ask now so as to be prepared for the ritual in a couple of months. My last 3 TT's had low point water system drains under the rig, and were generally located either front to back or...

    BC Chapter fall Rally

My wife Kathy and I will try very hard to be there. You don't have to fill your water tank up before leaving for Manning Park as the RV dump station with separate fresh water fill is located about 1.5 KM's past Coldspring campground (east). Here is a recent picture of us bringing our new to...

    Transmission fluid change DIY

Lets get the BC Chapter going

I everyone. This is my first post after joining today. My wife and I (Kathy & Paul) are dying to pick up our new-to-us 2007 Sundance 2800RLS. We don't have the time to import it until June, but after that we love to get out and see the Pacific Northwest, from our home in Langley. Hoping to...
