    Mounting hardware??

Like Irvin said, the walls are thin and you need to hit a stud to hand any real weight BUT the problem is locating them. Travel trailer walls are not set up like a standard wall of a house where everything is based on 16" centers. Even when you are positive you know where a stud is located you...

    Queen Mattress

We had the 74" mattress but I replaced the lift up storage lid with a longer board by 6" giving us the full 80". I used 3/4" birch plywood for the lid that is still strong enough to support large adults sitting on the longer overhang at the bottom of the bed. We extended the existing mattress...

    Halftime and AC

A/C and Microwave should work together Creecher (Heartland Rep) has tested this and says that they should both work at the same time. He suggested it may be a defective main breaker. I have no more details at this time but you can read his response at...

It pains me deeply to say this but it is true ON SOME MODELS. The North Trail and Sundance models come with 30 AMP service. I have read about this happening to others (http://www.northtrailtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1005) and had it occur to us this past weekend. It was a surprise but...

    2009 F150 + Northtrail 31QBS?

Reading this and some of your other posts makes me think you have little experience RVing. Before purchasing your $30k RV you may want to try renting one. This would let you try towing; take the kids with you to see if they like camping; and generally get the feel of what is involved. If you...

    Anyone shopped Lakeshore RV

I almost bought from Lakeshore. However, after talking with a Heartland rep and a local dealers I learned that the local dealers would do any warranty work needed BUT I would be at the bottom of the list with preference given to the dealers own customers. I didn't like that but appreciated...

    2009 F150 + Northtrail 31QBS?

Irwin is correct about getting the rig weighed. After I bought my NT, I took the time to educate myself on towing and how to tow correctly. There are plenty of good websites that have great information on how to setup the hitch and tow correctly. Read them and print out pages about 'how to...

    28BHS Queen Bed mattress

We were unaware of the upgraded pillow top mattress when we purchased ours. We got the shorter mattress, 74". The updated mattress is 78". The newer TTs have a permanent wall separating the bedroom. Our model has a curtain, which we really like. I was able to replace the lid over the storage...

    26 rks heater

Do all the vents have an equal amount of hot air coming out? Some of the heating ducts maybe compressed in the walls and floor. There has also been an issue with too much air coming out of the bathroom vents which can be fixed with new adjustable vent cover to block the heat. Many people...

Tell me about your 28 BHS.

We bought ours June 2008. We had a smaller TT and have never bought a new one. We liked the openness of it; lots of storage, light weight for towing, layout, fit and finish, extra room for guests, lots of counter space. My wife didn't want carpeting or the necessity to make up and tear down...

Fell in love with a 28bhs. How can I find a used one?

When we started looking for ours 28BHS the difference in cost between a used or new unit was small enough that it made more sense to purchase a new one. Another consideration is that Heartland has changed this model over the last few years. The newest models have diamond plate on the front of...

That's correct, Pete. The server only knows the time you request data from the server. Once you get the thread to your PC you read it all locally on your PC. 32 Qbss

I had the same issue with my tanks being mislabeled but I had the dealer correct it along with other issues. After buying a new TT there are usually things that the dealer needs to address. Just keep a running list as you find things and have the dealer fix them all in one trip. I was surprised...

    New 28BHS purchase

Welcome to the family!! We almost bought our TT from Muskegon Michigan but decided to get ours closer to home (Medina) in case there were any issues. We bought ours in July and love it. The only sad thing is that it is harder to camp when there is snow on the ground. :( You may also want to...

Congratulations on your purchase. We bought ours earlier this year from Avalon in Medina. I had our 28BHS in for service before we store it for the winter and it is still sitting up in their lot. As I am sure you know, we have had two weeks of snowy weather and I don't want to drive it over...

Grey tank capacity in SD 280RL?

How are you determing that the gray water is full?? My monitor panel doesn't seem very accurate so I use it more of a guide. Also, my last TT had the water from the shower and bathroom sink go into the black water tank. On my new TT, all the water except for the toilet goes into the gray...

Dealers do not want to do warranty work

Yep, my bad. I tend to forget about all the fulltimers who are fortunate enough to be able to follow that lifestyle. I am probably just jealous. :D It seems that when issues like this occur, Heartland is able to locate a dealer who is able to help those folks on the road. Maybe Heartland can...

Dealers do not want to do warranty work

This past summer we decided on the TT we wanted and started looking for the "best price". I had my choice between a dealer 1½ hours away and another that was 4 hours away. The furthest dealer was about $1700 cheaper. Sounds like a no brainer, right? Well, just like Cookie, I was told point blank...

    Can I tow a North Trail 31QBS? 28BHS?

I have made a few trips with our new 28BHS and I do OK with my Silverado which is like yours but 4WD. I would like to have more truck but it is probably more peace-of-mind than a necessity. I am sure that the more I tow with it the more comfortable I will feel. I have a single friction sway...

    28 BHS Winterization

The low point drains are between the back left stabilizer and the bumper. Mine are tucked up very high and are hard to see. You may need to lay down underneath and look up to find them. The fresh water tank drain is on the right side between the steps and the wheels.

    Anolther Tow Question

My 2 cents I thought I would jump in here since I went thru this a few months ago. I have a 1/2 ton Silverado and I would fear for my life if I had to pull a TT that weighed ~ 1700 lbs more than my 28BHS. If I could, I would certainly purchase a new TV of 3/4 ton or larger. When towing, I...
