    WiFiRanger Router Review

a future version of wifiranger may support multiple cellular modems, but not this one. you are correct, the external antenna to the WiFiRanger would only improve wifi. i am still in dallas, near 35 and 635. how long are you in melissa for?

    WiFiRanger Router Review

I'm excited about a new mobile broadband router that just came out. You can read my entire review at: http://j.mp/wifiranger THE BOTTOM LINE The WiFiRanger has one feature that no (current) mobile broadband router does: WiFi as an internet source. Beyond that hardware feature, I'm pleasantly...

    Sprint or Verizon???

the iphone has been able to legally tether for some time now: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3574 whether or not a rumored verizon iphone can tether at launch, remains to be seen. after all, its still just a rumor... though it does seem bound to happen sooner or later.

Ray... if you are thinking verizon... you may want to struggle with alltel a couple more months and see if the rumors surrounding vzw iphone with 4g/lte come true. if i were you and pulled the trigger now.... and then verizon DID come out with 4G phone within next couple months... i'd end up...

New Verizon Mobile Broadband Plans with 15% Discount.

just FYI, these MiFi devices can be connected via USB cable to a Cradlepoint MBR series router which feature WiFi N radio to provide greater WiFi range than what is built into the MiFi. So, when on the road, you could take the MiFi by itself, and when you are at home, attach it to the...

    Verizon 3G service: $80/mo for 10GB

Multiple sources are reporting that rumored "tiered pricing" for Verizon's data service will start on Oct. 28 Among the options rumored to become available is one that provides 10GB of data for $80/mo I think its a good thing that verizon realizes some folks could really use more than 5GB of...

$40/mo unlimited, no contract data plan

that is correct. virginmobile service only offers either a USB modem or their MiFi. their USB modem can be used directly attached to a computer, or attached to a cradlepoint router that allows multiple computers.

$40/mo unlimited, no contract data plan

The MiFi is fine for most people, but it has a couple of limitations: first, if ever you want to improve cellular signal to it, you'll need to spend more money on a repeater instead of just an antenna because it doesnt have a jack for an antenna like the USB modem does; second, the WiFi range on...

Yes, the cradlepoint should work fine with the MC760 USB modem. is it too early to jump ship? maybe. at the very least, don't cut vzw until you've tested vm for a couple weeks? a month?

$40/mo unlimited, no contract data plan

there is nothing from verizon that is faster than the USB760. sounds to me like a ploy to get you to renew a contract with them. if your verizon service is working well for you now, i see nothing currently available from them that would make me renew a contract... except maybe for a cross-grade...

$40/mo unlimited, no contract data plan

are you considering replacing your verizon service with virgin mobile service? if so, and you have a cradlepoint router, i'd suggest you get the virgin mobile 760 USB modem that has an antenna jack. you might need a different adapter cable to use your antenna with the 760 USB modem.

Check out this router from AirLink

cradlepoint has always had competition, but none of them measure up (in my opinion) i've personally tested dozens of routers, including airlink101's first 3g router... none of the routers i've tested to date, have comparable ease of use, advanced features, and most importantly -- carrier/modem...

    Best Verizon 3G Modem

verizon's "global support" modems are _only_ for those people who want one device that works primarily in the united states, but allows for (expensive) international use. the "global" support has nothing to do with any planned 4G/LTE network and does no good for people who only need service in USA.

    Best Verizon 3G Modem

too early to tell if sprint's new overdrive is any good. i'll let you know. at this time, you can't convert an existing sprint 3g service to a 4g service without a new commitment to another 2yr contract. i'll keep you posted.

verizon provides free wifi network access to evdo customers

Verizon just announced that they will provide free wifi network access to its EVDO/mobile broadband customers, and that usage over wifi network would not count against the 5gb allowance for cellular network. in my opinion, this will make verizon even more popular for the RV community. read...

    Sprint aircard is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

company i work for is now selling the pepwave surf wifi bridge. by itself, the pepwave surf is a great way to improve wifi reception in parks with limited wifi range, but the real reason we'll sell and support it is as our "wifi as wan" solution for cradlepoint routers. with a tipsheet we've...

    SOHO Kit Questions

i can't answer #1 or #2 #3. i believe wilson says the panel should always remain at least 18 to 24 inches away from people. #4. a femtocell requires cable/dsl, so its more or less useless to RVers. #5. zero chance the SoHo or any existing wilson gear will work with 4G. (Sprint 4G is in the...

first make sure you're in verizon's highest speed mobile broadband coverage area, and not just their "national access" coverage. second, you need to realize that if you ever operate the MiFi where cellular signal is weak, there is no easy way to attach a high gain cellular antenna (like a...

    Cradlepoint MBR1200

There are probably still a LOT of RVers who are using older PCMCIA mobile broadband cards like the KPC650, AirCard 595 or even the PX500/PC5750. Up until now, there has not been a Cradlepoint-branded router that would allow you to share the internet access those cards provide, with multiple...

    need wifi help

it doesn't work that way, exactly. for this example since you are using a repeater, that means the MAX you'll get is 50% of 54mb/s, which is as you said = 27mb/s lets say that the WiFi signal you have is 50% so in theory, you are now only able to get a maximum of 13.5mb/s what is feeding the...

    need wifi help

i don't normally involve myself in "wifi" conversations, but feel i should point out that... the indication that you are connected at 54mb/s is only relevant to your connection to the campground wifi hotspot. the true bottleneck is likely to be the campground's connection speed to the internet...
