if you are asking about WiFi range to/from the MiFi... its only about 30ft. if you locate one in typical living area of just about any RV, your WiFi-enabled devices should see it fine.

that is correct. virginmobile service only offers either a USB modem or their MiFi. their USB modem can be used directly attached to a computer, or attached to a cradlepoint router that allows multiple computers.

there is nothing from verizon that is faster than the USB760. sounds to me like a ploy to get you to renew a contract with them. if your verizon service is working well for you now, i see nothing currently available from them that would make me renew a contract... except maybe for a cross-grade...

are you considering replacing your verizon service with virgin mobile service? if so, and you have a cradlepoint router, i'd suggest you get the virgin mobile 760 USB modem that has an antenna jack. you might need a different adapter cable to use your antenna with the 760 USB modem.

cradlepoint has always had competition, but none of them measure up (in my opinion) i've personally tested dozens of routers, including airlink101's first 3g router... none of the routers i've tested to date, have comparable ease of use, advanced features, and most importantly -- carrier/modem...

verizon's "global support" modems are _only_ for those people who want one device that works primarily in the united states, but allows for (expensive) international use. the "global" support has nothing to do with any planned 4G/LTE network and does no good for people who only need service in USA.

i don't normally involve myself in "wifi" conversations, but feel i should point out that... the indication that you are connected at 54mb/s is only relevant to your connection to the campground wifi hotspot. the true bottleneck is likely to be the campground's connection speed to the internet...
