    Wagging the tow vehicle

http://www.break.com/usercontent/2008/8/gumball-rally-2008-live-cam-catches-suv-crash-552553.html It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like no sway control, driver hit the brakes, and maybe even trailer too long for the TV.

    Built-in water pressure regulator?

Is there a built-in water pressure regulator for city water on the '09 26RKS? I use an external 50psi regulator and seem to have very low pressure at the faucets. I've looked inside, under the cabinets, and can see where the city water connector comes in, but can't tell if it is a hose...

Plumbling: Possible water heater drain mod

On the 26RKS the water heater is on the street-side of the front storage compartment. It seems like it would be trivial to add a water heater drain by an additional valve/hose at the water heater bypass. Is there a reason why the only documented/official method I can find to drain the water...

    Water pump stutters

The water pump in our 26RKS "stutters" when running, rather than true on/off cycling. It sounds like it is roughly 5Hz cycle. Shouldn't the pressure/demand system have a longer on-off-on period?

    Interesting progression (weights)

We stopped at an ODOT weigh station on the way home today. The way (way to many "ways" here... ;)) the weights came out was kind of interesting. Front axle: 3,500lbs Rear axle: 4,500lbs Trailer axles: 5,500lbs Total: 13,500lbs I'm glad I didn't have bicycles on the back, because that might...

    Have dog, will travel.

Our dogs are part of our family so when we get a chance to go places where dogs are allowed we take them with us. The question is what you do with 3x ~70lb dogs. Individual kennel panels are carried on the truck topper and dogs travel in the back (of the truck). We then setup at camp and let...

    Aluminum or wood?

This thread indicates that at least some Heartland products are using wood instead of aluminum on part of the frame. Part of our decision-making process for our 2009 26RKS (manufactured 12/2007) was the sales and pamphlet representation that the framing was aluminum (not exactly something you...

Break & Test - Black/Gray drain and holding tank

I've managed, after many years of towing, to have an "oops". I took a corner too tight and a landscape rock took a bite out of the left side of my new North Trail 26RKS. The black/gray combination drain was pulled (not broken) off cleanly. There doesn't appear to have been anything sealing it...
