You mentioned you used mothballs. I put mothballs on the feet of all the jacks and around the tires or anything that touches the ground. That keeps them out. I have not had any problem since.
I do not bait them. Why invite them in !
The fastest way is from Montpelier to Pocatello (I-15) to Idaho Falls to W. Yellowstone to Bozeman. The slowest and most scenic is Montpelier to Star Valley to Jackson to the south entrance of Yellowstone, then either out through West Yellowstone to Bozeman or out through Mammouth to Livingstone...
My brother saw my screen door with the silder section with the plastic circle that can be pushed down w/o opening the slider to open it. He says he has been trying to find one, but says he has looked all over w/o success. Does anyone know where to find one? He is looking for just the slider...
I have only been getting a day or two on my 2 - 12v. batteries. So I just brought home 2 new Costco 6 volt batteries for my 2012 Sundance 3200RE 5er and started reading all these treads on Inverters/converters and 6v. batteries. Now my head is swimming! What does the inverter and converter do...
I have had mice problems. I have not had any problem in storage or while camped though since I started using moth balls. I put 4-5 of them on the feet of the jacks and around the tires or anything that may touch or get close to the ground. I have not had any problems since doing so.
I do not...
I started reading this and before I got through the 3rd sentance I knew that your rear jacks were down. BTDT!
I check that now, but believe it or not, I now leave the steps down!
I posted about this issue last year on this DM2852 refer. Not only is mine noisy, but I think it is running down the batteries much faster when I am boondocking. There is no way to turn the fan(s) off, unless you turn the refer switch off.
Then like RB75 says, it still runs for a while longer...
Yes it is strange. I did call Dometic. After waiting for 8 calls ahead of me, I got a woman that read the same manual as I was reading. She said she was not a tech so could not tell me more...then she said hold on a minute and I was cut off. I am going to call their sevice center tomorrow.
I am...
The dometic owners manual says there is a Climat control switch under the refer on/off-auto/gas controls. There is nothing. Does anyone
Have this refer DM2852 that has a Clmate Control switch that would take a picture of the location and post it here?
I am baffled!
Thanks.
A poster on another forum said it might be the high humidity heaters????.... and to turn off the switch. Could that be the problem? Where is that located?
I just took my new fresh off the line (1 1/2 weeks ago) Sundance 3200RE out for it's maiden camp trip the last 5 days. The fan on the refer seems to be running most of the time. The out side temps have only been in the high 70's. The fan was even running when I went to bed when the temps were...
Many have posted about putting different showerheads on rather than the OEM one. I have been relutant in that I thought the OEM showerhead had little pressure and used less water so that you did not drain your fresh water tank when boondocking. Am I wrong in thinking that???
Jim,
I contacted Dometic today. We just returned from Alaska last night. They said that there were supposed to be 2 dowels in the door to hold up the wood panel on the door.
They are sending the dowels and a new plastic flange to me. They will not cover any labor. They said that I should be...
Pulltab,
Guess what, I got the leaky hose fixed so that there was no drip and the next day the carpet was wet again even with the docking station dry. I opened the compartment to the water heater to check it even though I have done it a half a dozen times to find it dry. You're right, this...
I had this problem in my home 10 years ago.. It was a screw coming out of the flooring under the vinyl. The installer just cut a small hole removed the screw and put glue in the hole, pushed it down, wiped the excess glue off and this is the first time since then I have even thought about it.

I have not had any other problems that I am aware of. Near the entertainment center is the only wet carpet I have had. The docking station box is almost completely dry. The carpet is dry even after this mornings showers. We brought a small 9 in. oscilating fan with us which we have used to help...
Pulltab,
I have checked the back of the water heater many times. I can access that area which is under the enterainment center in my RK unit by taking out 2 screws and a panel. The panel has not been back on in over since we started our trip. I check it almost every day. The fittings are...
jmgratz,
I ruled the full holding tank cause out because it happened again 3-4 times with the tank empty. That's not to say that may still be another problem.
I copied and pasted this from my post on the Big Horn plumbing page.

Well, I think I have found the problem. Although I have not checked for the loose shower drain fitting yet, that's on the back bunner for now.
I got wet carpet again, next to the entertainment cabinet and even a little...
Well, I think I have found the problem. Although I have not checked for the loose shower drain fitting yet, that's on the back bunner for now.
I got wet carpet again, next to the entertainment cabinet and even a little in the slide under the sofabed. I took a good look in the shower and low and...
Pulltab,
We have been showering in there for over 2 weeks, with no leaks. So I would think that it must have something to do with an over full holding tank. But I will check that out.
Bill ,
I had only a elec and water only hookup.
What can be the problem? The DW took a shower and said that the water was not draining very fast. I just happened to be by the front door, so I checked the holding tank levels. Sure enough The rear holding tank was full.
I took a step forward and having bare feet felt that the carpet was wet by...
Refer doors
We had that problem last year on our second trip. The door actually fell right off and broke the pin in the hinge. Do not carry any items in the door. We had a new door installed. We are in Canada now on our way to Alaska. Now, the oakwood panel is dropping out or just sliding to...
I do not use traps, Decon inside or anything that might lure mice into the unit. This winter I put mothballs around the jack feet and tires. I had no mice droppings or evidence of them being inside this spring. The storage unit smelled of moth balls, but not inside of the unit.
I have heard of...
