    Heartland's Warranty is questionable

I have been using e-mails because the dealer is still "involved", or at least he makes it sound as if he is still dealing with Heartland. So, my e-mails can be sent to both parties in hopes of getting things done. My issues are not even big. I could easily afford to just get it fixed and be done...

    Heartland's Warranty is questionable

Bobby, they may keep track of you to help you through issues, but unless you are recording your phone calls, YOU have no proof that you've talked to them. Can anyone explain why they don't answer e-mails? Jim, yes, we have an Eagle Ridge and overall like it. We DO have issues though, and they...

    Heartland's Warranty is questionable

A phone call isn't "documented", and their customer service ignores their e-mails as good as the dealer does. You guys need to get your Heartland glasses off and realize this is very common. The old "2 sides to every story" story is getting old.

I was playing around as well and saw what happens. On a good note, that cleared some space for future unloading. :)

Accuracy: 81.9% Time: 15.23 Seconds Score: 1075 The time is the most critical part of the equation for a good score. I have done it in 14 seconds, but the parking job is crazy. This thing is ADDICTING! :) (My new personal best right after I posted) Accuracy: 90.7% Time: 14.27 Seconds Score: 1271

Mounting spare tire on rear bumper

Don't miss the part about it NOT being covered under warranty. I agree, it sure seems to be strong enough, and it also seemed to be something they would cover, but so far that's not the case. I'm not trying to be a jerk about this, but the fact is we have Heartland people on here telling us all...

Mounting spare tire on rear bumper

You are correct- it is the ask the factory section. The reason I chimed in is I have read in the past from Heartland people that a bike rack being mounted "should be no problem". The problem is, it IS a problem. We have an Eagle Ridge, very similar to the Sundance, and we used a bike rack on...

Mounting spare tire on rear bumper

It's not me saying it, just telling you what Heartland and Lippert will tell you AFTER it breaks. Not sure why nobody will tell you that now when you're asking.

Mounting spare tire on rear bumper

No. The rear bumper is there to carry your sewer hose, although it doesn't seem like anyone in the know wants to tell you that.

    Warranty or not?

The bikes are all "Specialized", with the heaviest one being mine at 28 pounds. Then there is a females bike and 2 smaller adult/larger kids bikes. None of those 3 weigh more than 25 each. Pretty close to 100 pounds, and the receiver isn't the part that had the problem. Thanks for your replies...

    Warranty or not?

I tried "correcting" the problem immediately by contacting the dealer and then awaited their response. But yes, in the meantime we did continue to use it. I guess my question to you is this- do you think the bumper being mounted "crooked" is a warranty item? No, it is not intentionally...

    Warranty or not?

The bumper was not level, but as I just posted- there was nothing else "visually" wrong with it. And why would I? How about I just spent $XX,XXX.XX on a 5th wheeler that was going to be hauling bikes for my family, was included in several vacation plans, and when the dealer was notified, he did...

    Warranty or not?

I did inspect the rear bumper to see if thee was anything I might have been able to do to straighten it out when I first brought it home. If you've never seen one, it is welded directly to the frame, so no missing bolt, bent bracket or anything quite so easy. I didn't notice any cracked weld or...

    Warranty or not?

Well, let's just say I am a little disappointed so far. We have a 2010 Eagle Ridge with the 4" square bumper on the back. On the 1st trip towing it home, I was being followed by a friend who immediately noticed that the rear bumper was not level with the 5'er- it had a slight dip to the drivers...

    ElkRidge Towing Experience

I am pulling the same unit with a 3/4 Crew Cab diesel and have had NO issues at all. The only thing I have over you is mine is a Chevy. :D Honestly, it does seem to be a great match. I have Firestone airbags I added to level out and help stability. Power, braking, speed, stability, etc are...

    Cyclone 3812

I am normally on the "it can do it safely" bandwagon, but wow, this seems to be pushing the limits. If I thought it were a reasonable task for a 3/4 ton truck, I would have put a lot more energy into looking at the toy haulers. I think you're pushing it quite a bit if you are even half loaded...

    Closed hastily

Good post, and I agree. If there can't be any opinions other than "it's the best thing ever created", then the site isn't going anywhere, and certainly can't help Heartland make improvements. I didn't see anything offensive in the thread at all.

    Rear bumper weight limit

Well, originally I thought it would be fine to hold a 4 bike rack. We have used it that way for the past couple of months without any issues. However, last week we were pulling in to our campground in Medora, ND (on our way to Glacier Park, MT) and the bumper gave way. The welds broke almost...

    35DSRL and 2500 Duramax

As the others have said, the options can add a lot of weight. Mine is pretty much "stock", no extra AC, no generator, no dual pane windows, no washer/dryer, etc. I expect that if the advertised weight is the "average", then mine is most certainly no higher than the published weight. So I am...

    Truck Size... 3670RL..

I'd say it's too much for a 3/4 ton's GVWR in most cases. Pin weight probably isn't bad, but overall weight of the unit looks to be a bit too much. I'd have to side with the rest of the dually guys this time. ;)
  24. B

    35DSRL and 2500 Duramax

I have the same set up with an 08 Duramax. "Stability" is the ONLY valid argument anyone can make for or against this truck, as everything else with a 3/4 ton or 1 ton is the same. I do have Firestone Ride-Rites installed, and I will say I feel totally comfortable towing with this set up. I...

    Heartland floor-plan name explanation please

And if I had to guess on deciphering the code for mine, it would be Desk, Sofa?, Rear loft that makes up the "DSRL".
  27. B

    Heartland floor-plan name explanation please

He said from rear bumper to front LANDING JACKS. I haven't measured, but that would sound about right for our Eagle Ridge 35 DSRL, which is actual almost 39' long total.

A second bedroom in an Augusta XL

By the way, it's also got a loft above the rear bedroom that can sleep 2 extra kids. We have 3 boys that love having the bedroom and loft space as their own. There are 2 TV shelves, a desk and room for 4 kids to sleep if necessary. It is a very unique layout. I strongly suggest checking one out...

Maybe you aren't looking hard enough. The Elk Ridge Line has a floor plan option very similar to that in the 35DSRL with the rear bedroom option. :)

Cyclone door locks not keyed alike???

We have the same situation with our Eagle Ridge- the back door has 1 key, the main front door is another, and the baggage doors are a 3rd different key. Not fun.

    3950 Cyclone Weight-Wow

The frame, springs and brakes are the same in the 3/4 ton or 1 ton. The only difference is the extra leaf spring in the 1 ton, and the tires. So upgrading the tires does indeed get you more load capacity, maybe not "technically" but in the real world.

Winterizing the Black Water Flush System

If anyone has a home sprinkler system and blows it out themselves, they probably have one of these already made, and even have a valve installed. ;) Never thought about using it for the new 5'er, but it's good to know it's no longer a single use invention. :D

    Good match

We have the same truck (mine's a Crew Cab) in an 08 with a 2010 Eagle Ridge 35DSRL (same basic weight as BH3410). It's probably a little too much for some peoples comfort if you are loading it down, but it has been a great combo as far as I'm concerned. No lack of power, braking is great, and...

    12 volt outlets

The biggest "advantage" to having a 12 volt receptacle is you don't need to be plugged in to shore power for it to work. That is a HUGE difference in my book. I have a Coleman power "cooler" that works great to keep beverages chilled. It can work with AC or DC power, so I added a 12volt...

    Bike rack on rear bumper

I don't have any pictures of it yet, and the rack itself is removed now as I don't use it all the time. However, the 2 pieces that make up the system are linked below. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-2-bumper-adapter/17221 http://www.bikerackshops.com/SG64940.html We have 2 adult...
