    Tailgate question

Have a "V" Box and no tailgate/ Don't know about the air flow, but it is easy to hookup and it is never forgotten plus my tools are at hand.

    driver ticketed for using bio-fuel

What should the government do with plug-ins? They are "avoiding" the taxes, aren't they--so much a kilowatt? Love the maximum stupidity---no good deed goes unpunished, I guess.

Big Horn - Disappointment Attachment Update

Seems that there have been several threads where people have been complaining about sawdust, loose screws, debris, etc. regarding Hearland products. Know that BH puts out 13 units a day and if they had an employee who manned a shop vac and hit each unit as it moves through the various stations...

    Factory visit--questions/observations

Have been in the Goshen/Elkhart area checking out a replacement 5W for our Montana. Happened into the Heartland Ralley at the Fairgrounds in Goshen as a bonus since BH is at the top of our list, mostly because of weight considerations and our TV. Eric gave us a great tour of the Heartland...

    What options for '08 3400RL

Does anyone know how much the high-gloss finish weighs?

    Add'l Standard/Optional Items desired

With more research, discovered that it really isn't a 16 gal water heater, but one that produces the equivalent of 16 gals of hot water by mixing very, very hot water with cold water. Still a good idea if it works as advertised. What I had hope to see was a place where customers could have an...

    Add'l Standard/Optional Items desired

Just saw our first Bighorns yesterday, too bad the dealer didn't have all the floorplans. Saw one which would do us and the sales brochure had another. Unfortunately the sales brochure isn't very complete regarding standard and optional features. Since we are about a yr. out from ordering some...

Why the same Stickies on each page?

Qestion, why do the "Stickies" appear on every page? Seems like page 1 would be enough since they don't often change. Just an observation.

What can be changed on an order?

Thanks for the replies. Scott, think that we'll stop by the factory sometime after the Indy 500 is over. Most of our concerns would fall in the "deletion" category. Are just seriously starting to look, but Bighorn is in the top five.

What can be changed on an order?

We are still looking at a Bighorn as a replacement for our current 5W and are back doing some research. Assuming that you order a rig, what can you change, knowing that somethings are not possible, somethings would entail extra cost, somethings should generate a discount and somethings...

    Mexico Parts

Kiko, maybe you could get some help on a couple of other forums. The major thing is to get the parts past the Mexican border and then they could be shipped anywhere in Mexico through DHL without worring about customs/postal service. I'd go to RV.net, there is a forum entitled "RVing in Mexico...

    fantastic fans

Think the two fantastic vent fans are a great way to move air. Helps cut down on A/C use for us. Another thing that we've done is to replace the noise making fan in the "boom-boom" room with a 120cm computer muffin fan. It is so quiet that we can leave it on all night for a little extra...

    flexing frame and bad repairs

Well, the reason I am on this forum is because our Lippert frame failed on our 2004 Montana and I want a better replacement. I have cruised several other owners forums. Lippert provides frames to many manufacturers and their "frame flex" problem goes back to at least 2002. It is a much bigger...

    towing in 6th gear

I let Mr. Allison just do his job unless I'm in a place where it is hilly with a lot of corners.

    Quality control

Unfortunately, we have a Montana and it has been just a piece of junk. Took it to the factory for a multitude of repairs and a lot of them were poorly done. Gave up trying to get everything fixed under warranty. We now have new family saying, "Friends don't let friends buy a Montana."

    New Dometic Refrigerator

Scott, How about using regular residental refridgerators instead of expensive, heavy RV refers? Know that they are available in Alpenlites. A couple of years ago in Mexico, our 8 cuft RV refer. died and we replaced it with a 10 cuft residental refer and still had room to spare. Used the...

    Exhaust brakes

We have the Banks exhaust brake with the Smart-lock transmission torque converter lockup system. Never was happy with the way it locked up and took it it to factory where it was adjusted, but still worked in a jerky manner. It locked up so hard that it destroyed the transmission about a month...

Not happy with our current 5W

Thanks for the info--followed some other threads and found what I wanted. Guess it still bothers me that all of the implied advertising, brochures, etc. are appealing to full-timer RVers and there are a lot of us out there. Think we all realize that our use rate for certain items are more than...

Not happy with our current 5W

We have a 2004 Montana 3575. Love the floorplan, hate the rig. It has been a piece of junk. Many, many normal problems, but then had to deal with a broken frame and all the great number of extra problems. Had it sort of fixed at the factory, but they sure didn't do a good job. So here is my...
