Yes, there is an old thread complete with photos that shows how to install small aluminum channel in to keep them in. I did it years ago & it works great. You can find it by going back to postings around early 2010. BTW, I live in Warrensburg, MO about an hour away from you. Best of luck.
I keep my 2010 M18 Plugged in all the time when it's not on the road (I bought it new). Original battery, still. I check water level Spring & Fall when winterizing & dewinterizing & have had no issues. The only related issue I had was that the plastic battery holder didn't have a drain hole...
I ended up also buying the Jensen Speakers from Jensen direct. I agree that they aren't terrific speakers, the price was pretty good though-they are waterproof, or are supposed to be. I needed one & bought 3 so I would have a pair for backup. I think the total cost for all three including...
Pretty broad statement. I assume you meant without a WD hitch and Sway control. I pull an M18 without a weight distribution hitch with an Acura MXD & also a one ton dually. The operators manual that came with the past two Acura's specifically mentioned WDH & not to use them. They are full...
I agree with socrates50, The number of positive comments I've received while camping (M18, FBP) has been impressive. I can't help but wonder if Heartland didn't pull the plug on the Edge line a bit too soon, of course I haven't seen the financials on the Edge line.
I ended up buying the whole vent from Heartland & then spray painting the flap on the new one & only installed the new flap in the old unit. I felt that was the easiest way to replace it. I had full body paint so that was the simplest. I would do that repair the same way again, I think that...
They stopped production of the Edge line in July 2011. You might be able to find one still on a lot somewhere. Best of luck. PS I pull an M18 with a 2011 Acura MDX with a regular hitch with no problems. I also used a 2006 MDX when I first got the M18 & it was fine also.
I don't think there is. I use the area strictly for storage. I think there was a thin panel to lay over the doors that fall open. It wasn't a great design to say the very least.
The Edge line wasn't designed as a 4 season trailer. If you figure out a reasonable way to accomplish this & have a successful ski trip with the trailer without freezing issues please post a description & post a few photos of the modifications, or how you did this as many of us would be...
Please note my hitch is not a weight distribution hitch. It is a normal insert which goes in the Acura supplied towing package. It does raise the ball a bit. The friction bar device is a Reese unit (not shown) that I bought it cost in the range of $40.00 I don't recall the exact amount. The...
I've pulled my M18 with three different vehicles with only a friction type sway bar. The first was an 06 Acura MDX. When the friction bar was tightened down I had no sway issues. I could tow without the sway bar but could develop some minor sway from time to time. I never felt it was bad...
I personally don't think that you are the one missing something. See the thread under Prospective Owners. It certainly looks like a very short term decision rather than a thoughtful long term approach by Heartland. The Edge was/is a unique light weight travel trailer line.
The dealer replaced one under warranty on my M18 just after I bought the trailer. I don't think it took long. When I checked it before leaving the dealership it was installed upside down. It only took a few minutes to reinstall it correctly. Sorry I didn't get to see them actually fix it...
I spent Friday from around noon until Monday morning at a local state park. The park is near an Air Force Base and has about 80 camping sites. The weather was basically pretty good & the park was about 2/3 full. By Sunday at noon I had 4 different folks walk by & say that they liked my "rig"...
Mcreech, how about a few words on the continuing availability of parts for us current Edge Owners? It might help put some of us a little more at ease about owning a product that was discontinued by Heartland. It certainly is an issue future Heartland purchasers would be interested in. I...
Agree with Jim. Pretty sure all Edge's are 9'10" including A/C but you should probably confirm. Jim, do you ever camp at Knob Noster State Park? I live close to it.
The antenna on most Edge products is a round type. It is omnidirectional and does not crank up or rotate. Push the red button to turn on the preamp in the antenna for over the air signals. Then do a scan on your television so it will know what channels are available. Turn the red light off...
Jim, Would it be possible for you as "Heartland: Director of Owners Interests" to contact the appropriate management folks at Heartland and see what the plans are for continuing to maintain parts & factory support for the Edge line? There appears to be several components that are fairly unique...
Wonder how much longer Heartland will support this forum? I think Frano is on to something. I suggest that if it goes away we find a place to form a continued Edge RV Users Forum. (Be sure to include "RV" in the search or you will probably land on LOTS of Ford auto sites).
Bought a 2010 Edge M18 in late 2009. Have used it locally and am into my 3rd camping season. I would buy it again. I have towed it with a 2006 Acura MDX, 2011 Acura MDX, & a 1 Ton Dually. All have done a good job with only a friction sway bar. I had a couple of small issues that were...
Guppyman, I have had the A/C running on my 2010 M18 on & off for a few weeks in Warrensburg, MO just to the north of you. I have had much condensation forming on the plastic interior grate inside the unit on the inside of the trailer. I can' find any other problems that would account for this...
Yellowreef, That is the unit I knew about. Does it work for a shower like in the M18 & M22? I have only seen it shown in a "tub" situation where there is no 90 degree bend. Did you put one in your M18? If so did you have to modify it to use it? Thanks for the post. Ron
I posted an idea several months ago that I think would help with the shower in both the M18 & M22 models. The idea is for Heartland to fabricate a shower curtain rod which extends about 4-6 inches out beyond the shower base. This would be much like the curtain rod in the newer & more...
Just a small suggestion with regard to potential slide leaks. Always check the roof of the slide before closing to make sure there are no twigs, acorns, or things on top that will damage the seal when it closes. I try to always make the slide side just ever so slightly lower so any potential...
Totally Agree. But the dealer did fix it under warranty. You would think Heartland would get it fixed on the assembly line after all the dealer costs/repairs.
