The first time I changed it I probably cross threaded it. It only went in half way. Second time, a new plug went in easy, all the way. I don't think I over tightened but may have. Not just a small leak. Water blasting out obviously under significant pressure.

Dahillbilly, thx for that answer. When I originally tried to fix it the only valve of the 3 that was closed was the bottom one, so I opened it and got warm water only. After closing the middle valve the water from taps is hot. Thx again. Now when I winterize, which valves should be open and closed?
