    Camping World Katy

Happy Campers I went to Camping World in Katy and met with Joe French and Kevin today. They took prompt care of the issues we had with a prior service issue. They have really turned the service deptartment around. It is not like it used to be. I would recommend them as an excellent service...

Just a note to let everyone know that Joe French PM'ed me and invited me to bring the camper in to look at it again. He is trying to correct the problems that the service dept had in the past. Thanks Tony

    Camping World Katy

JFrench If you are really interested in bridging the gap of some of my bad experiances with Camping World in Katy, I would be willing to let you repair some of the warranty work that was done. The fan motor for the heater was making a loud noise. They found that the blade housing was rubbing...

    Camping World Katy

It is obvious that Camping World has had a change in the Service Dept. We bought an 06 Bighorn and warranty work was a nightmare. The camper sat there for months without getting the work done. After a long period I would call and ask about it, they would say "Oh Yeah it has been done" Then I...

    Preparing for Travel _ Refrigerator

We leave our RV plugged into shore power 24/7 at the house, and the refrigerator is always on. And we leave alot of common things in the frig, ketchup and mayo. This is only my second RV, but this encourages us to camp more. It is almost ready to go, 15-20 minutes to load a few things from the...

I didn't get the tool for the rear jacks, Lippert sent me one, free of charge. But I was told that the tool for the hydraulic pump was not included. So I found a bit to fit my cordless drill.

2008 Southwest Regional (Houston, TX) Spring Rally - Being Planned...

Jay I am sorry to say that Brenda and I wont be able to make it this time. Some friends are getting married in Lousiana. But the good news is, we met some Big Country owners last week at a campground and they had never heard about the Heartland owners forum or the rally, but now that they...

    Have these problems?

I have a boat trailer that binds up, if the trailer is pushing the truck it binds. So I have to pull forward a little to allow it to latch. I would give that a try, but carefully. Tony

    Securing Bedroom TV

The TV in my living room came with two sets of straps with clips on it that criss cross. The chairs in the living room came with the same type of straps. So I took two sets and mounted them on the bedroom TV. And strap it down criss crossed also. I have never strapped the chairs in.

    Big Horn garage

We built a metal building for our camper. It is 20x 45'. I ran 30 amp service and water inside. I put two concrete slabs where the tires sit, the rest of the floor is crushed concrete. The door is 14 x 14. I decided on 45' because we dont think that we will ever need a fifth wheel longer than...

How would rising gas prices effect your camping?

We have been wanting to venture out to see some other parts of Texas and the the rest of the country, but with diesel so high we are thinking twice. Especially since we take two vehicles, one towing the camper and one towing the boat.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE. George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the...

Tow Vehicle wiring for Charging RV Batteries

I think I would solder a smaller piece of wire, that will fit into the screw terminal, to the end on the 8 gauge wire. And then cover it with heat shrink or electrical tape. A piece of solid copper wire, maybe 12 gauge should work nice. If you make the jumper wire short, like 1/2 inch it should...

    Heat Duct Problems

I would suggest a mirror and a flashlight to inspect the inside of the ducts. I found a block of wood in mine that closed off the ductwork to the rear of the camper. I would also pull apart the basement and inspect the furnce to insure that the ductwork is connected to the furnace and not...

Bighorn - Appliances - Added oven igniter

I wonder if it might be a liability issue. If the gas was to build up in the oven, then the igniter is struck.... IF that is the case having a seperate igniter switch and opening the door before lighting should take care of the problem. I think I will make a trip to Lowes also. Thanks for...

    water hoses

I highly recommend the quick disconnects. It is hard to get two hands into the Docking Station at the same time to tighten the hoses. I use a brass QD on the water and a plastic on the black flush, so they cant be mixed up.

No it is an 06, and we have had it for 1.5 years. But we have only used the heat a few times. And never noticed that the living room was cold, and the bedroom too hot. I am going to block off some of the airflow to the bedroom register now and force more into the rest of the vents. The...

    Heat Ducts

I got it!!!! Someone had cut a board to fit in the ductwork and block off the rear ducts. And the board was almost in the middle. I found it with a flashlight and a cosmetic mirror (the wife caught me) but I was able to get a 3/8" steel rod to bend enough to beat the board thru on one end...
