    Greystone 32RE

We have had our 32RE for about a year. We have looked at many other trailers and motorhomes in the last year and we still prefer the 32re overall. We get lots of compliments on its good looks. We had some problems with it to start, but the basic design is great. We have put about 15k...

    Level recommendation

I believe that the whole purpose for leveling is to get the refrig cooling unit oriented correctly. It also helps the doors stay neutral. The refrig needs to be level to a half degree or about a half a bubble. You dont want to be walking around in the trailer while you are trying to level it...

ATF: Greystone - Main support bolts

It turns out that, not only were the two bolts I checked yesterday loose, but also the balance of the bolts I checked today. Here is a picture of the first one I found when I was running my Satellite TV wiring: The only bolts like these that I could find were only in the non-slide sections...

ATF: Greystone - Main support bolts

The two I looked at so far seemed to have lock washers that had too large an inside diameter. When I tightened one up the washer moved over to one side leaving part of the lock washer untouched by the nut. This is probably why they are common loose.

ATF: Greystone - Main support bolts

The other day I noticed that one of the nuts on the frame were loose. There is a triangle shaped support outside the frame. There is a bolt coming download through the floor and goes through the support out near the aluminum skirt. Any way, it appears that all the nuts on these bolts have...

ATF: Greystone - bathroom faucet make and color

I went through this same hunt. The coach fixtures are plastic. I called customer service and they gave me the supplier. I called them and they told me the fixtures were oil rubbed bronzend color. I could never find a perfect match at the big hardware stores, possibly because the original...

    front leveling jacks

If you take the legs too low or especially too high, (coach too high) the fuse will be blown. Retracting the legs will be a problem if you drive the foot into the stationary leg portion. Extending beyond 17 inches will also blow the fuse. The other guys described the fuse location well...

You won't have any problem with weight, or more to the point accelerating with your truck and trailer. I pull a greystone 32re with a 6L gasser, and dont have any major problems, You have way more low speed torque than I do, so no problem.

    water-filters

I believe in filtering particles and microbes outside the rv but not cholorine. I use a paper 1 micron pre filter for large stuff followed by a .5 micron ceramic filter. This Combination can stop a lot of rust at some campgrounds, but the ceramic unit can be cleaned. I believe one should...

    Greystone Satellite TV antenna connection

I have purchased a wineguard antenna and I'm ready to install. Can you give me some advice on where to bolt the unit. It has 4 feet in the base and they suggest # 10 screws. How far should I drive screws into the roof? Can i avoid air conditioning ducts and wiring? Driver side duct...

    Tires

I ran my powerking towmax str tires 10k miles without problems. I switched to goodyear marathon, which are also made in china. The sidewalls on the towmax were very thin and flexible compared to the new marathons. We'll see how the newly manufacturer goodyears hold up.

    Freeze issue.

Wow, so your trailer battery powered the furnance blower all night? Did you leave your truck hooked up electrically too, so that you got some power from both batteries. Or do you have more than one battery in the trailer?

    Freeze issue.

JMH>>> Where is this extra furnance output port? heartland told me they cut 2" holes in the ducts between each storage tank in the underbelly. Thats quite a bit of air really, and I wonder if there is a return path for that air? If too much air is diverted into the underbelly from the...

    Freeze issue.

Ok, well that is one data point, sounds like outside temps in the teens is a freezing risk. I sometimes think of running the fireplace heater to save gas, which it does, but by reducing furnace time we reduce heating in the underbelly. If its not freezing out I say run the fireplace and any...

    Freeze issue.

As I understand, the underbelly is heated using bleedoff warm air from the furnace ducting. How cold did it get at night where you were? Were you running your furnace all night? I have survived some below freezing nights using the furnace. I've bought some wireless temperature sensors and...

    Sundance vs. Greystone

I have a Greystone 32re and love it . Greystones and Sundances are built by the same people on the same line at Heartland, and share the same brand manager. They share the same frame and axle components. The Greystone differences that I know of are: 1) outside siding on the Greystones are...

    Greystone Storage Area Plumbing

I believe the pipe you are looking at is the trap for the shower drain. I keep most stuff in plastic bins in the basement. Just be a little careful and you shouldn't have any problems. It seems to be pretty solid, much more than the fresh water plumbing. Jim

    Plumbing issue

    Floor Vent / Thermostat Interactions

I noticed that each time the furnace started it only ran for a few minutes and shut off and then restarted again in a few minutes. It would go through maybe 4 cycles before the thermostat was satisfied and would then stay off for maybe 30 minutes or longer, depending how cold it was outside...

    Greystone Satellite TV antenna connection

I called Customer Service. The guy I talked to was sure the Greystone had satellite prep. He thought it was with the wiring in the bedroom vent. I took down the inside vent cover and pulled out all the wiring I could find. Here is a picture of what I saw. I think what I found was mainly for...

    Fresh water tank capacity problem

I cleared the vent and added 10 gal to an empty tank. I took an 800 mile trip and then tried to drain the tank. Only a few drops came out. I cleared the vent by blowing into my tube and the water started pouring out. Apparently water gets into the vent anytime you are moving around with...

    Greystone Satellite TV antenna connection

We just finished a trip from New England to Florida and to California. The Heartland unit has been working out very well. However, many parks don't have good TV connections and the antenna doesn't always pick up well when not close to a big city. So my wife wants a satellite system installed...

Thinking about Buying a Greystone 32RE

Dave: We had a number of fit and finish issues when we picked up our unit, even after the dealer had supposedly gone over it in detail. The oven was tilted in its mount and we can't imagine how so many QA STEPS could have missed this very obvious problem. We had problems with our axels and...

Thinking about Buying a Greystone 32RE

I have a 32RE. it is my first 5W. I use the forum mainly to exchange information. When I see a lot of similar posts I look harder at that issue but dont assume it is a fundamental flaw. We visited both the Heartland and Keystone factories. I was really surprised to see so much commonality...

overhead cabinet hinge pulled out of cabinet

I had a door pull out the hinge and I first tried tightening the screw. That didn't work long so I bought some two part epoxy. Only one day on the road so far but all is ok. I have about 5000 miles so far, and many of the hinges were found to be lose. Only one had to be glued so far.
