Your Grand Cherokee with air suspension should be more than sufficient!! We tow our M22 with a 4.4 BMW x5 which has air sus and it tows stable and fast. I haven't seen tow reports for the 2011 jeep but I'd guess it'll perform well. Have fun!

I wonder about long-term durability. I've already had a roof repair with end cap seams opening, and I have to think near black roofs have a rougher life than reflective white.

I'll take a pic of the toy lock on our M22 for you tomorrow when its light and post here. But the mounting hardware sounds right - two 3 inch bolts that attach the lock to the frame (eyelets on each edge of the center of the toy lock), with no brackets. You'll have to drill holes in the frame.
