Size of the outdoor speakers on the edge m21

+1. when you replace the speakers, you may have to use a larger screw or new mounting points. Any set of $30 Radio Shack speakers will be better than those OE Jensens.

    Towing an "Edge"

Nice uninformed post. You have no idea that some vehicle manufacturers advise against use of WDH do you?

Penguin AC unit extremely loud on Edge M22

Very loud and sends vibrations throughout the trailer. Bunk beds almost rattle. Very poorly thought out Heartland.

    What am I missing?

My best guess is that the Edge and MPG were more expensive per unit to manufacture than a similar sized Wilderness, and the market was just not supporting the margins needed by Heartland to build them. It probably holds true that many travel trailer buyers shop by size and price, rather than...

    Towing an "Edge"

I just read a bunch of reviews on that KIA, and it gets good reviews for handling and power for sure. Nice long wheel base for a SUV. Strange; does the back-end squat down when towing? Our X5 has a shorter wheel base and tows like a freight train w/o any drama alongside semis.

    No longer making Edge!!???

Maybe margins were too tight on this one? Might have worked for Heartland when dealers could get close to MSRP but when the recession hit, these things were discounted steeply! We love our M22 with full body paint and can't say enough about Heartland backing up their products. Our M22 was...

If you were curious what your wall construction looks like

Yeah, we are doing an Easter Egg hunt this coming weekend while camping, and my 3 1/2 year old will probably find more camper bits and pieces than candy!

If you were curious what your wall construction looks like

Total thickness is 1 1/16". The fiberglass is 1/16", the wood(?) between fiberglass and foam is 1/16", and the inside wall material is just shy of 1/8".

    Shelving Falls//any ideas?

More info: After I unscrewed the supports (which were tight against the back of the cabinet, I moved them forward and held them in place in the new location with blue painters tape, checked with a level, made adjustments, and then drilled in the first screw. I did drill small pilot holes but I...

    Shelving Falls//any ideas?

Sounds like your shelves are sliding forward a bit then falling down, correct? I fixed ours by moving the two supports at the back of the cabinet forward about 6 inches. The shelves can't fall and they are a whole lot more stable. Just go slow with the wood screws and use a screwdriver for...

If you were curious what your wall construction looks like

That's funny - No, although it looks like I was up to some mischief, I found this piece under the sink in the wheel well area. Thought it was pretty neat. Here's another view.

If you were curious what your wall construction looks like

Here's a view of the wall material; the interior is the part on top, foam center, and the thin shell on the bottom.

    Full body paint option

Full body paint is indeed paint on all four sides, and the various stripes are all paint. For example, my full body paint unit came with 4 different colors of touch up paint. Heartland seems to have a great paint shop, and I am highly impressed with their paintwork. Notably, heartland puts a...

    Travel Trailer Comparison Shopping

Check out my threads in the general area about towing the M22. I have a BMW X5 4.4i with air suspension and 6K tow rating. We tow over high mountain passes and the M22 tows extremely well and feels like there's always a good margin of safety. Pickups are not the final word and only answer with...

    future owner

Your Grand Cherokee with air suspension should be more than sufficient!! We tow our M22 with a 4.4 BMW x5 which has air sus and it tows stable and fast. I haven't seen tow reports for the 2011 jeep but I'd guess it'll perform well. Have fun!

    Our M21 Edge,

I wonder about long-term durability. I've already had a roof repair with end cap seams opening, and I have to think near black roofs have a rougher life than reflective white.

    Our M21 Edge,

Great pics, and great paint scheme. What do you think about the dark colored roof? I'm not so sure; the roof just absorbs summer heat. If I buy again, I don't know if I'd get full body paint.

    Toy Lock installation

I'll take a pic of the toy lock on our M22 for you tomorrow when its light and post here. But the mounting hardware sounds right - two 3 inch bolts that attach the lock to the frame (eyelets on each edge of the center of the toy lock), with no brackets. You'll have to drill holes in the frame.

Buy now or design in spring?

+1 on this thought. Dealers are pretty eager to strike a fair price for RVs with the pop of the housing bubble and 'new normal.' Plus it feels good to buy a good product from a U.S. dealer and a U.S. manufacturer! Unless you have inside info on a 2011 redesign - go get your Edge now. If you...

    Edge M22 real life length

As for your trailer length question, I just measured 26 feet from rear bumper to hitch end. Hope that helps. I'm not running a WDH, but it probably makes sense for many vehicles. Here's my somewhat recent review of the Edge M22...

Seeking recommendations for cover for my M22

I'd like to preserve our painted M22 as much as possible from the brutal Colorado sunshine. Has anyone found a cover that works well for the Edge? Or maybe you had great luck with a brand of cover for another RV you had and can offer a suggestion for a premium cover. Or maybe you've got some...

2010 Edge M22 and first trip complete

No shades over the vents or door window, and they are needed for sure. Here's another pic from a bit different perspective, looks a little more proportionate! But yes, I did get a couple surprised looks that the X5 was the TV. Here's a link to a forum with an interesting discussion of the X5...

    Edge window operation ?

I agree with the posters here who note that you need to go slowly and gently and stop opening right after you hear the 'click.' These windows (and the shades and screens) prefer a gentle touch.

2010 Edge M22 and first trip complete

Just got back from 5 days in Moab in our new M22. Could not have been happier with the layout, storage space, towability, and style of this trailer. Compared to our old Fleetwood Resolute tent trailer, we were living in luxury in the Edge. In particular, counter space is great and the dinette...
