bedroom ac

I am replacing the existing bedroom roof vent with a new roof top ac unit.
I have heard conflicting reports as to weather or not use a sealant between the foam rubber gasket and the rubber (epdm) roof.
My past experience in the construction field (not rv's) tells me to use sealant. If sealant is required what type is compatible with my EPDM roof?

There is no sealant used there. The foam gasket is all you need.
