5th Airborne has landed

FedEx just delivered my 5th Airborne pinbox a couple of minutes ago. Unfortunately, it will have to sit in the garage for a couple of months waiting for the global warming to take effect here in SE Michigan before it meets the BigHorn. The polar bears may be sweating, but they're forecasting 18+ inches of snow for us overnight, winds and blizzard conditions.

I can take it off your hands and keep it from accumulating dust when we drive up to get our cyclone if you'd like!

Stay warm, 60 here yesterday, 30 right now! Yuck

Should give you plenty of time to put together a project plan for mounting it!

That plan has been in the works since I decided to upgrade the pin. With my 8 wooden foot pads, leverage, and some temporarily purloined 4x4 cribbing and wedges from the FD, I should be able to remove the old pin box and then position the 5th AB for mounting using my truck bed and hitch for the extra height and support.

That, or I line up some thirsty friends and tell them the beer's on me after it's mounted. That's Plan B.

Plan B sounds good. How much is a round trip ticket to MI from DC?

Around $250:D. Probably cost as much for your carry-on bag, though. The uber-friendliness of the TSA agent having his way with you is free, however.

I only fly Southwest - no baggage fee! (Nothing more I can add about our friendly "junk" handlers)
