Adjustable tension shelves

Since I don't plan on installing a washer/dryer in the bedroom closet, I'd like to modify that space with shelves. I'm thinking of adding adjustable tension shelves like the one shown in this link: https://www.amazon.com/HyFanStr-Adj...973&s=home-garden&sr=1-3&th=1#customerReviews

I'm wondering if anyone has done anything like this, and if it worked? I'm not sure the "tension" will hold the shelves adequately when traveling. Any thoughts?

George,

i have not not used that kind of shelving but am a little concerned about the walls being so flimsy you won’t get a good grip.

I’d go ahead and invest in a pilaster system. You’ll get adjustment too. The use of this depends if you can grab some studs in the walls. But if nothing else run the pilasters all the way to the floor so it can help support some weight.

Another idea is to simply install your own framework that will sit on the floor for support and use that to hold your shelves.

I have done both with success.
