Adjusting Up/Down Limits on TV Mount

The up/down limits on my TV mount are not working. In fact if I raise the TV without stopping the TV would continue to rise until it came off the mounting bracket. The red and green lights are flashing. What is the proper procedure for setting the limits? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Thanks for the reply and useful information. The limit settings disappear every time the power is disconnected. I will try to set the limits the next time I travel. Thanks again.
