Basement cable connection

I have not been able to get my tv in the basement to pick up either a cable signal or OTA signal .....I thought at first that it was the TV so when I got home I took the tv into the house and plugged it into the cable system and it worked. So I then ran a cable to my cable plug on the side of the house and it worked. But when I plug the cable into the dock the tv in the basement will not pick up a signal but the other tv's do. I just wonder if there is a splitter some where that has come apart. I have a 2011 Big Country 3250 TS. It has worked in the past but the last couple of times out the grandkids wanted to watch cartoons outside but grandpa could not make the tv work. Any suggestions on how to restore the signal to the basement would be appreciated...

Bob:
Here is a link to your coax wiring diagram: http://manuals.heartlandowners.org/...ayouts/All_Brands/Big_Country_Coax_Layout.pdf

There are manuals on just about everything in your RV if you go to the top of any forum page, click on "Tools" then "Manuals" . This whole section is worth exploring (and printing if you want to), but the coax layouts can be found under "Electronics" They are now grouped not by product lines, but rather are in an "all" section.

The diagram shows a splitter off of the cable feeding the bedroom TV going to the basement connector. If you can find this (maybe in the wall behind the bedroom TV amplifier plate) you may find a coax cable loose or disconnected. Otherwise you may want to look for the splitter in the basement, following the input cable in the UDC. Good luck!!!

Is there a cable diagram because I do not have a cable connection in the basement but the living room and the bedroom work fine. I could probably take the basement wall down after lowering the race under the bedroom floor which is a lot of work to see if there is loose connection or broken wire etc. Before I go to all that work there must be another way to figure out why I do not get a signal in the basement.....

Bob,

On our Landmark, the splitter is just a few inches behind the wall plate in the basement. You might be able to fish it out by removing the mounting screws and pulling the wire out. Or perhaps you can shine a flashlight through the wall plate opening to see the splitter. Our signal comes out of the signal booster, goes to the basement, and then on to the living room. So in our case, if the basement was the only location not working, it would probably be a bad connection coming out of that nearby splitter, or at the wall plate.

When I removed my basement wall to install my solar, I had occasion to deal with that coaxial connection. You should be able to pull the whole connection out through the hole.

What I really wanted to tell you is that I found mine to be very loose and improperly connected. I tightened it with wrenches and taped it. I find that my rig is almost perfect in every way, but my two biggest complaints would be the tires and poorly connected connections including coaxial cables.

Our splitter is screwed to the floor behind the basement wall below the outlet connection in the wall. I did re tighten the connections but they were not really loose.
