Bed Clearance

I am thinking about changing the stock 1621HD pinbox on a 2010 model 3670, I am going to purchase, with a Demco or A Mor/ryde or maybe some other. Those of you that have made the switch did you notice an increase between the 5ver and the bedrails? If yes, about how much? My 2011 chevy 3500HD dually has high bed rails or a deeper box however you look at it. Looks to me that Heartland on new ones I have seen with the stock pin box have 5 bolts in the mount. If you lowered it you would only have a four bolt mount. I have owned a Mor/Ryde but not a Demco-would also like to know if you have a Demco how do you like.
Thank you for your info,
Steve

I like our Mor/Ryde. As far as the bed height, you should be able to raise the hitch and still be able to have the 5 bolts on each side. If you have 5-6" of clearance you should be good to go. If you go with a Mor/Ryde, make sure that it is rated for a heaver pinbox weight. What you did not say is if you are going to transfer the old pinbox to the new coach. If you do you can get the heavier cushions from Mor/Ryde.

My trailer came from the factory with the Mor/Ryde pin box. I only had a five inch bed clearance and wanted more bed clearance. I though of lowering the Mor/Ryde but like you I would only have four bolts to mount the Mor/Ryde. I called Mor/Ryde and they told me that 5 was the minimum number of bolts that could be used. I solve the problem by buying a 3" riser from Pullrite.

We have had a bed clearance problem since we bought our Heartland. The pin box is so much flatter than our previous trailer. We found we were hitting the sides in very tight turns. Since we have an air hitch we could just add air and circumvent the problem but would forget to do this. We stopped at Mor/ryde to see if they had a solution. We couldn't make any changes to the pin box wince we wouldn't have enough bolts left. The final solution was the raise the hitch. Mor/ryde built a deck for the hitch and placed the hitch on the new deck, this solved our problem very nicely and was well worth the money to have it done. We decided to go to Mor/ryde to have this done as we are confidant in their engineering skills. The engineer spent hours trying to work out a solution for us that would keep us safe. I have nothing but good to say about Mor/ryde and their commitment to the customer.
