Big Day #1 Tomorrow

Getting cataract surgery/lens implantation tomorrow on my left eye. Going to have the multi-focal lens implants. Other eye gets done February 2. According to the docs, I may get away with just needing OTC reading glasses for close work. As it's been recently, the right eye is just along for the ride when I'm reading or at the computer. And that's with tri-focals on.

It's a piece of cake surgery.... 30 days of drops...45 min to get you ready,,,5---6 min surgery,,,, 1 hour to make sure you can walk... then another 30 days of drops. I am surprised they are doing both that close together.

But you will like the results. I had both done this past summer. Plus another surgery to repair hole in Macula,

My wife had both eyes, 1 month apart, done. She had the single focal lens instead. She only uses OTC reading glasses. Today it is considered a highly successful rate surgery.

What everybody else says. DW had her cataracts removed two years ago. Went for the top tier surgery lens replacement. It was a slam bam for her. Seeing 20-15 from one and 20-20 from the other. No glasses although grabs the shades when it's sunny outside.
Good luck.

First lens went in with no problems. Still a little fuzzy but improving as the pupil relaxes. Definitely a difference in the color and intensity of light between the two eyes.

Yep, very good :) Saw the doctor for the 24 hour follow-up and vision was just about perfect in the left eye. Still a little watery with the drops and all, but a world of difference.

Good news John. I saw my eye doctor today and will be setting up appointments to have both of my eyes done.

Mine is using the Femtolaser procedure. It does the incision and breaks up the old lens for removal. Worst part of the "ordeal" was the nurse trying to find a vein to stick the IV port into. First she went for the back of the hand (OUCH!), then the inner elbow. You're pretty much out for the count while they're monkeying around on your eyeball. No discomfort after it's over. Can't wait to get the other eye done.
