We just purchased a 2014 Bighorn 3570rs and are using it for the first time this week. It came with a bedroom ac that is ducted and has the thermostat on the wall. The problem we are having is that the living room ac doesn't seem to be ducted to the bedroom, and the bedroom ac isn't ducted to the living room either. We looked up in the vents to see if anything is blocked, and it looks like they just aren't ducted that way. Our last 5th wheel had the air ducted to the bedroom, and I assumed all new 5th wheels would be the same way?

I'm pretty sure the ducting is supposed to be connected between living room and bedroom. With the living room A/C unit running, you should be able to feel some airflow at the bedroom vents, and in the living room from the bedroom A/C. If you can't, your dealer may need to check the ducts to figure out why not.

I"m very sure that these are supposed to be connected. Our BC's definitely is - we've even cooled the rear with the bedroom AC and if our rear AC was working I would assume we could do vice versa - we can feel air coming into the bedroom when we turn on the rear AC. And I spoke with the factory this week regarding the ducting and they indicated that the ducting was the same for the BH, BC, and Landmark.
Dumb question - how are you able to look at the ducting?

Our 2013 shares the duct between front and rear A/C units. When we took delivery in December there was no heat coming from the rear duct. They use flexible flimsy ducts, and in our case that line had been crimped. They rerouted the duct, problem solved. Maybe you have the same problem with the A/C's?

Our 2013 Bighorn also shares the ducting throughout the entire coach. Our only problem is that the front AC does not appear to be working. The air it blows does not seem to change (get colder) from just fun to the AC mode. We have switched the fan from hi to low to auto and still when the AC is on it doesn't seem to blow any colder than just in fan mode. Any ideas? Got it scheduled for the shop after we return from our three week vacation, but since temps here are currently in the 90's we were hoping to have both of the AC's going.

That's what our rear AC is doing - front/bedroom works great - gets very cold and can cool the rear to an extent but not well when it's in the 90's. We have to take it in - the rear eventually gets unbearable.

Our new 2014 3570rs is ducted to front and back for both units. It stands to reason though the amount of air that makes it from one end to the other will be less the further away from the unit you get. You might try closing the dump in the front living room (used to quickly cool down the living room) and that will force more air to the bedroom. It won't be a lot of flow, at least it's not in ours, but it does flow back there and vice versa.
Thanks for all the replies. When we feel the ducts in the bedroom ceiling with the living room air running, we feel nothing at all coming out. We can feel it in the bathroom though. When we turn the living room air off and turn the bedroom air on, we feel air coming out of the ducts in the bedroom, but none at all in the bathroom or living room.
We took the covers off and shined a flashlight in the opening while holding a mirror inside to get a look at the ducts. It looks like dead ends, we see no opening between the bedroom and living room and no opening from the bedroom to the bathroom. It looks completely sealed off.
We've closed the the air dump thing on the living room ac, but there's no difference..we feel nothing coming out of the bedroom ducts.
I'll be really disappointed if we're not able to cool the bedroom using the living room ac, and I was hoping to cool the living room using just the bedroom air on the not so hot days to cut down on the noise while watching tv.

This won't make you feel any better but we definitely feel air in the living - it's actually more than we feel if we have the living room air dump open (from the living AC unit). And even our 2010 BH pushed air into the bedroom (we had no AC unit in the bedroom).

We got air through the ducts in the bedroom from the living room ac in our previous 5th wheel too. It was enough to cool the bedroom at night. I assumed this one would be the same way especially since its a more expensive camper than the last one.

The complaint in the original post does not indicate the bedroom a/c not working well, it indicates that there is a flow issue in the ducting system.
In fact the complaint is that they are not getting any flow in the bedroom from the living room A/C.
Maybe I'm missing something? Am I the latest poster you are referring to?
I wasn't referring to the OP but the poster that indicated they were having a problem with their rear AC unit itself - see earlier reply.
Did they say how it could be opened up? This must be a change in the later 2014s - ours is integrated together....
They didn't really say how it would be opened up. Yes it must be a more recent change. Ours was built in March.
I don't know if its because of the way it's ducted, but it has been cooling really well. It's been 90 degrees and humid and the temp inside has stayed around 70 degrees all day. I have the thermostat set to 77 but it still cools it down to 70(I don't know if that's another issue or just the way RV thermostats work).

Ours was built later - April 22. And Heartland called me this week regarding my ATF question about the ducting and I was told that the BH, BC, and Landmark all have integrated ducting (so does the Gateway...). The Landmark's AC units are hidden but have the same ducting. I spoke with Jamie Justis. I think it would be worth another call to Heartland........ Problem with not being integrated is that you will always have to run both AC's to cool the bedroom too.

One of the reasons I was questioning Heartland about the ducting is that our rear AC is not cooling - we wondered if there was a problem with the ducting. (However, it's apparent it's the AC unit now - it's just not putting out cold air nor is it dripping - the front works great. We're taking it in for service on the rear AC.)
