Brake Controller Boost quit working.

I just recently purchased a Bighorn 3610 and elected to keep the brake controller I used for towing a 30ft trailer. I had them move the 7 pin plug to the sidewall in the bed of my pick-up and now the boost function on the brake controller does not work! I have tried both plug locations (bed sidewall and bumper) and it does not work in either. It is a Hayes brake controller. Any suggestions??
