Cooling the unit down

I have a 2011 Greystone 29MK and live in Arizona. We have found it very difficult to cool the unit down and keep it cool when camping in heat in excess of 100 degrees. Has anyone installed a second air conditioning unit in the bedroom to help with cooling the unit down and keeping it cool? Is it or should it be necessary to install a 2nd unit? We have had the air checked by the dealer there doesn't seem to be a problem. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I added air to my last unit but it was not your model. Most nowadays are PRE wired. But to check look in your breaker box to see.

The worst of it is to remove the caulking off and around what is in the hole now.

And.....it might only cool locally....not sure if/how your ducting works.

The few times we have been out in really hot weather we have experienced the same thing sp I would say your issue is normal. Fortunately we are mostly able to avoid the really hot days in our area. A second A/C isn't in the cards for us since our unit is only wired for 30 amps.

There are ways around the 30 amp dilemma.
If you really want a second AC it can be done.

If you have a 30 amp unit, run the second AC on a separate 20 amp circuit. Fish the wire down into the basement and install a mail end on it. Run an extension from the 20 amp plug in the pedestal to the basement and plug it in. Power problem solved.

Good suggestions on the 2nd AC. Although our Cyclone is huge, it is really just a 31' 5th wheel with a 12' garage. It would not work for me with just 1 AC. I only wish that I had ordered ours instead of purchasing a lot model, and it had a 3rd AC in the garage. For anyone who lives in the south or southwest, 2 should be standard, 3 seriously considered.

lgubbels,
You could quite easily upgrade your main wiring and breaker panel to 50A. I'm sure it would be less than the cost of an air conditioner (I would guess $300).

Scotty,
As for the garage, you could get a small portable spot-cooler type A/C - they are typically ducted to the outside with just a dryer vent arrangement. You might still have to do some load management, but it would add a bunch of comfort to your mid-summer trips.

I know. It's easy for me to spend your money. ;)
