We purchased a 2011 North Country from a dealer in Corpus Christi, TX. Upon purchasing this new trailer we bought the 84 month warranty thinking we would be cover in case anything happen. Were we surprise when they refused to do the work because it was the siding/frame of the trailer. The trim on the front & back has starting coming loose. The piece on the back looks like the screw never "caught" as it should and once the silicone gave it let the trim come loose which in turn has started letting some of the siding fall. We have only put around 1k miles on this trailer, other wise it has been parked at our ranch. I've file a report with the BBB for the dealership since they kept the trailer for 7 working days before they would even tell us they hadn't done any repairs and the warranty wouldn't cover it since it was poor craftsman ship.

Then today we get a call from Heartland saying if it was craftsman ship it would have happen when it was shipped over, they don't made the trailers them self. This is the 1st time we've ever purchased a new travel trailer, and also the 1st time we've ever had a problem with one. It was a really good salesman, told us everything a person wanted to hear before saying out all cash for an item.

If your ever in Corpus Christi, TX, don't purchased from Del Air RV, they don't stand behind their products.

Hi justk2010,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. There's lots of useful information here along with friendly and helpful people.

I'm sorry you're going through these problems. If you have a 2011, it does sound like you'd be past the original warranty expiration date. 3rd party "extended warranties" and "service agreements" can be helpful, but they usually cover a specific set of problems and also usually exclude a number of problems. Many people have bought expensive policies only to find out that the devil is in the details of the policy.

Hopefully you'll be able to get this taken care of soon so you can enjoy using the trailer.

I'd suggest reading the conditions on the extended warranty and find out what they cover and more important what they don't cover. many of them are pretty misleading and don't cover nearly as much as you think..Don

I recently had a nice discussion with Good Sam on their Extended Warranty. No surprises, they cover appliances and mechanical problems, but not the walls or interior furnishings. Nope, I don't have a problem, just getting a quote for when my Star RV policy expires at the end of the year. Will I take out the Good Sam policy? Maybe.
