Drip Pan for Washing machine

For those of you with a washing machine in your RV, which drip pan did you install?

I see two types...one with a drain that you attach a draining hose to and another without any type of drain.

We just bought Splendide washer/dryer units (not combo) and are leaning toward the type with a drain. Question is where did you route the actual drain hose? If you have pictures, you get bonus points. :)

In our case the w/d closet is in the rig's front cap, in the bedroom. There is a wire and pipe chase along the floor next to the bedroom wall, covered by carpeted covers. One in the closet, and one in the bedroom. Find the screws in the carpet and remove the covers. In our case the pipes/wires go behind/under the dresser, then go down through the floor to the basement area. We routed the pan drain hose along the same chase, but turned downward a little sooner, went through the floor and into the propane compartment. That is where ours drains.

I installed the one with the drain. I ran a flexible hose along the same chase as shown in the pictures above but I didn't continue the hose down through the floor. Instead I used a drill and drilled a hole in the black washer drain pipe at an angle towards the drain pan. I used a drill bit that was the same as the outer diameter as the drain hose so that I could insert it into the washer drain pipe and seal it with silicone sealant. Hope this makes sense. I did this because I couldn't easily get the pan drain hose down through the hole in the floor. There's no pressure on either of the hoses. I've had no problems with this installation.

Whoo hoo! Glad I could help. I cant take all the credit, we followed the advice of others on this forum, MCTalley had done it prior to us and had a similar closet set-up.

Get yourself a metal stud finder at a big boxs store. It will show you where the studs are as well as the locations of any metal wall plates for mounting things. I used it for the dryer vent and the location of the bottom edge of the metal plate in the kitchen for mounting the new microwave. Heartland assemblers just caught the bottom 1/2 inch with the original.

Installation is close to what I did, but installed a one handle faucet instead of the OEM. The original was way too hard to turn on and off.
