Dual pane windows

We are looking at purchasing a new Bighorn 5th wheel for full-timing. We want to know how important it is to have dual pane windows. Specifically the energy savings, comfort and noise reduction vs. added cost and weight.

Hi jonell.dan,

There's another active thread on this subject with quite a few comments. You'll find it here.

All I can say is that I will never be without dual panes.
I know they cut down the noise some and we never wipe condensate from them on cold mornings.
Depending on what floor plan you choose they probably add around 200 pounds of weight.
Are they worth the added cost and weight? Only you can decide for yourself.
To me they are worth it.

Peace
Dave

Never knew you could purchase a Big Horn with single pane windows. As I stated in the other thread about
dual pane windows ....unless you like wiping water from the inside windows of your RV get dual pane.

My DW and I have had both and IMHO dual are the only way to go. For us it is no sweating and lower noise level.
