3600 RE 2009 they fit in their pretty tight, did you replace with the same fan that you took out? mine are tight between the outer wall and the frige. if you can give any tips on how you did it that would be great thanks

Guess it does depend on the model of refrigerator, too. On mine, the OEM fan is right at the top and easily accessed from the top vent. Some refriderators I saw during last summer's plant tour have them mounted in the middle of the unit, which would make it impossible to get at from the vents.

my frige model is a RM3962 2 door. I pulled the old one out threw the top vent useing some force but I am haveing a hard time getting the new ones to slip into the mounting bracket I thought may be a way to do it with out having to remove the frige

Like John I was able to access through the top vent. The fans were about half way down, but I was able to get the fans changed out.
Your refer is in a slide so maybe, with a few extra grunts you may be able to get the fans in.
Mine were held onto the bracket with screws. The replacement fans were larger so the screw holes did not line up. I uses self drilling screws with an extension on my drill driver.

Peace

Tried to look up the parts/instruction manual for your RM3962 on Dometic's site. Not listed, even in their discontinued stuff. I was thinking you had a side by side (2 door) unit, but looks like I was mistaken. The ones I saw at the factory (only from the rear) did not look big enough to be side by sides. although I didn't get the model number off the cartons. Maybe this photo will give you an idea of what it looks like...in the flesh.

Are you sure the fan is bad? I mean, could it be the thermal switch or power issue? Just checking.

yea it was bad had to spin it with my finger to get it going. that being said I went back out to give it an other try and got them in. I thought I was gonna break them but their pretty heavy duty not your chep computer fan. Think I am going hook them up tp a swicth like others have done

I have the same refer and got my in no problem, found the exact same fan at Radio Shack, I wired it so it stays on all the time, it seems to help keep the fridg cooler.

You may want to connect your manual switch in parallel with the thermal switch just in case you forget to turn in on manually. It seems like I can't remember things like that anymore! I hardwired my fan once just to see if it made a difference, and I carefully recorded the temperatures in both scenarios. I did not record an improvement with the fan consistently on versus allowing the "intelligent" thermal switch to control operation. But I suppose it depends on how the venting is executed, direct sun on fridge side, etc. Good luck!

it sure would be great if they made the upper access panel with fans in them as well as a solar panel. Hmmmmm going to have to check it out. Maybe invent something for it. The solar panel could mount on the roof.

What fuse rating is currently in use for the fan? How much current will both fans draw? Is the fan the only device on the circuit wire? Simply add up the current for devices on the circuit, including surge, fuse for the total. Ensure the end-to-end wiring is rated for the current you intend to draw.

These small computer fans draw less than .5 amp.
I would not be concerned with changing the fuse.
