Fender distance above wheel

I have a 2011 heartland edge m21 and I just noticed that there is only about one inch of clearance between my fender and my tires. Does anyone else have this situation and has it been a problem?

Hi sandiegomarine,

Welcome to the posting side of the Heartland Owners Forum. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed as you have seen if you have been looking around.

Hopefully someone with and Edge M21 will jump in soon with their clearance.

I have a 2011 Edge M21 and have the same one inch or so clearance between the Maxxis tires and the fenders. Has never been a problem, I have about 5,000 miles on my Edge M21 since I purchased it used in 2012.

Thank you for your response, why do you think they only have a small amount of clearance?

I inspected mine carefully to see if there was any sign of tire to fender contact and there never has been on my 2011 Edge M21. I replaced the OEM Towmax with Maxxis last winter and have no rubbing with either ones. I agree that the Edge fender design does not seem to provide much clearance but guess the Heartland engineers knew what they are doing - the tire does not hit the fenders. I assume they cut it as close as they did for appearance reasons.
